From first tests as to suitable person to be in need of cataract operation, very professional, staff. Clean unit. Day of op, again unit clean, comfortable, very attentive staff. Clear and professional information as to process. Welcome visit by surgeon before op. Rate: 9/ 10.

My husband had an eye procedure are on 3 February. We found the treatment we received from reception, the nurses and the consultant was excellent. Everyone made him feel relaxed and comfortable. He couldn’t have wished for better treatment

I have received a quick appointment for my operation and for the first time in my life I have seen the world in a new light, beautiful colours of nature that is so different from wearing glasses. The sharpness of buildings also leaves me in awe, I really cannot remember any of this as I wore glasses from early in my life. I had the utmost care from really helpful and caring staff and nothing has been too much trouble. I can recommend Newmedica for any eye problems and I am also grateful for the Nhs for funding this to be done.

The whole experience from first assessment to the actual operation was excellent. Very friendly and efficient. Staff put you at your ease in a relaxed atmosphere. This was very much appreciated as it’s a strange experience to go through!

From the first assessment visit to the actual procedure, all staff were polite, efficient and very professional & thorough in all that they do. Always put at ease even though a 'nervous' environment.

The whole experience at Newmedica is one of professionalism. Unsurprisingly, the pre-op experience is probably the hardest part of the procedure, & here, the nurses & auxiliary staff are very good at putting the patient at ease. Within 24 hours of the op, I was able to function as normal with much improved vision & focus.

The centre is very clean,modern and a nice COVID free environment. lovely friendly medical staff throughout my visit. Very efficient but in a relaxed way. My only misgiving is that both my eyes were dilated. I left my husband parked up outside a little way across the car park as it was suggested that relatives or friends do not come into the centre. As I opened the door to leave I honestly could not focus or see due to the brightness of the day outside, and of course still very much experiencing the effects of having the dilated pupils. I actually walked into the path of another car just about to park up. I feel I should have been warned about how the drops would effect my vision on leaving, then maybe I could have phoned my husband to come & meet me at the centre door. Or perhaps patients could be escorted by staff if they are not too busy. I feel it is an accident waiting to happen. This not a complaint as such but I honestly feel it is important to mention.

I had a cataract removed at the clinic and was very impressed with all aspects of my care. The staff were respectful and caring and went out of their way to make me feel relaxed and stress free. The following day I could see perfectly and have had no pain or discomfort at all. Thank you to everyone at Newmedica Barlborough

I had my first cataract operation at New Medica a few months ago so was familiar with the brilliant care given by all staff. Extremely well organised and I was informed at every stage what was happening. Very clean and well controlled infection risk during Covid, felt very safe. It was a very positive experience and comforting to know they were on the end of the phone if any problems, which I didn't need as operations went without a hitch. Thank you.
