I had an appt at 1115 on 19 Sep 2022, for a routine check. It was Her Majesty’s funeral that day so I assumed the practice would be closed. I received a text reminder on 18 Sep so assumed the surgery was open and attended at the allotted time only to find it was closed. Later the same day I received a text requiring me to evaluate my appt - the one that never happened!!! I received absolutely no notification of the closure nor was my appt. cancelled. On the contrary I received a reminder to attend the previous day. The service on this occasion was abysmal and at 72, I can really manage without going through such an experience. Yes, I realise the text notifications are automated, but not for an appointment that never was! I should have been notified of the cancellation and closure details, and the automatic notifications should not have been sent. To make matters worse the appt was due to a previous cancellation when the nurse was off sick. I appreciate this is a regular occurrence all organisations have to contend with, but to be let down twice without any explanation on the second occasion is not acceptable.
