In brief first time in my life had to go to A&E had to wait till evening for a bed and following evening for operation .The hospital is in poor repair but the staff are outstanding was very well cared for and in all honesty couldn’t ask for more as others have mentioned probably worst part is A&E waiting room very small and nowhere to sit at busy times

  2. Review titled Great

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My eight-year-old daughter and I would like to thank the workers of this wonderful establishment. My daughter felt ill at three in the morning (she was burping every 15-20 minutes), we arrived at the hospital and were well received at the reception, she quickly did her job and referred us to the doctor. We were met by a very nice nurse and doctor who treated my eight-year-old daughter with care and did their job professionally and quickly. Thank you so much, you are the best in your business. It’s a pity that I don’t have the right to thank you by name. Once again, many thanks to the hospital staff

Directed to Same day emergency care during doctors strike. This was for possible DVT. Staff were all fantastic . So helpful, taken in a wheelchair for ultra sound, reception staff got me a high chair I had hip surgery three weeks before. The doctors came at about 2pm and worked through the patients. With the beverages and sandwiches patients were accepting of the long waits Many thanks to the thoughtfulness of management and staff it made a long day bearable

  4. Review titled An Appalling Hospital In Every Way

Rated 1 star out of 5

My Father was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in November 2023 and I can only say the service received was appalling, over the 4 days he spent there we were subject to extremely rude and aggressive staff, very confused and almost incompetent medical staff and ultimately my Father was discharged prematurely, I see no point in making an official complaint as I’m sure this will be dealt with in the same manner, I am absolutely disgusted with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn.

  5. Review titled A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

The A&E department is shocking. I thought I'd read somewhere that the A&E had funding for improvements. The waiting area is tiny making it unbearable with the many people waiting and lack of ventilation. The seats are horrendous causing me a ridiculous amount of pain, I stayed for over 5 hours before I left as people had been waiting over 10 to be seen. I understand there's a strain on the NHS but after being triaged your left to sit there with no updates,no one checks to see if anyone's condition has worsened no offer of pain relief there is water available if you want to drink from a water fountain that everyone is coughing over and one toilet for however many people are waiting.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear this was the experience you had on your visit to our A&E department. Your feedback has been passed on to the teams that look after the A&E department, who apologised for the difficult experience you had. We will continue to work hard to improve this experience and use your feedback to inform future improvements for our patients wherever possible. Currently we do have team members regularly going into the waiting room of the Emergency Department (ED) to offer pain relief and share updates as regularly as possible. We have a doorbell system in place within the ED waiting room so that if someone feels more unwell, has any queries and cannot see any of the team, they can call for help. There is also a vending machine with drinks and food available for use by those waiting. We do however recognise that the waiting room can become challenging, especially when it is busy, so we are very sorry that you had this difficult experience. If you would like to be involved by sharing your experience in more detail, to help us learn what we could do differently please get in touch. Thank you again. Charlotte Lawrence, Patient and Public Engagement Lead (charlotte.lawrence@qehkl.nhs.uk or extension number 2432).

  8. Review titled Dreadful chaotic service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jan - Posted on 18 September 2023

My husband was sent to A&E by our medical practice. After standing for 6 hours he was seen but told nowhere for him to sit or lay down. A&E diagnosed a hernia in need of an operation and he was admitted. Next morning Dr who saw him said its muscle strain go home with painkillers. But 'just in case' ordered an urgent outpatient scan - which we've been told could be 5 months away. Saw our Dr again, definite hernia and needs urgent attention. We are going private as the QEH is so abysmal and has no duty of care to its patients. I just hope we never have to go there again as my own experience three months ago was absolutely shocking.

  9. Review titled Impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

was referred by my doctor to the hospital Rheumatology department. The initial appointment was arranged promptly and the Rheumatologist wanted Bloods, Xrays and MRI. All were arranged for the same day and all appointments ran to time. Every member of staff I dealt with were pleasant and efficient. Well done all. I'm impressed.

  10. Review titled Brilliant appointment with Consultant

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Susan H - Posted on 01 September 2023

I was seen in the Oral Surgery Clinic and felt valued and listened to as a patient. I got answers to questions and a pathway going forward to treatment in the future. At no time did I feel rushed.
