  1. Review titled Outstanding Care & Compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Tim H - Posted on 15 December 2022

I was sent by my GP to the Acute Medical Unit for breathing difficulties following a virus. The unit was very busy but the care was outstanding. I had a full range of tests including a chest X-ray. The doctors and nurses were all so understanding and empathetic. My final reassuring talk was with a consultant doctor who explained everything to me and I was discharged 5 hours later with a care plan. I can't thank them enough.

  2. Review titled The therapists were very understanding

    by eaterzr46 - Posted on 11 November 2022

I was recently diagnosed as having rheumatoid arthritis and during the first flare up was very disabled for eight weeks. The consultant referred me to the independent living centre in Newton Abbot. The occupational therapist and a student working with her were extremely helpful in demonstrating aids for use in the kitchen and I tried them out. They also demonstrated aids for putting on socks and doing up buttons. I am now prepared to cope with future flares. The therapists were very understanding.

  3. Review titled Outstanding and compassionate care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 24 October 2022

My 85year old dad was admitted via ambulance on the evening of his diamond wedding anniversary. He presented with a mild heart attack. The staff were absolutely fantastic being very kind, efficient and in difficult circumstances they even had time to get my mother and I a chair and a cup of coffee. I am extremely grateful for the care given to my father and he was released and able to go home and be with his beloved wife on their anniversary. Thanks Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital Staff.

  6. Review titled Covid vaccine

    by lint02 - Posted on 26 September 2022

Following a stressful week of phone calls and being batted between our GP surgery and 119, we were finally directed to the Covid centre at Greendale Business Park, Exeter. Fantastic! Right from the checkpoint and parking, all the way through the process, we were dealt with by friendly, cheerful helpful people who made the whole process so simple. Our overseas vaccines were registered and our boosters administered in record time, and we have nothing but praise for the team who helped us. Thank you.

  9. Review titled Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Service

    by whitel02 - Posted on 16 September 2022

Accessed help for my 7 year old with nocturnal enuresis (night time wetting) and was incredibly well-supported. We used the bedwetting alarm, and he gradually went longer and longer overnight being dry and within a few weeks was completely dry and has remained so since for several months now! He is delighted (as of course are we) and it has had a huge impact on our washing pile and his confidence. The members of the team we dealt with (sorry for forgetting names) were kind, patient and encouraging throughout and we really appreciated that when we didn't know what to try next.Keep up the great work and thank you again!

Dear Whitel02, Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your Son's experience of our service. I am delighted to hear that you found our nurses kind, patient and encouraging and that the care and treatment they gave helped to enable your son to become dry at night. We are very aware that night time wetting can be very upsetting and distressing and can impact young people physically, emotionally and socially as well as having a financial burden on the parents. I will feed back your positive comments to the team, as I am sure they will be very pleased to receive this great news. Thank you again. 10. Review titled Trying bath lifts

by RAgirl - Posted on 28 June 2022

Myself & my husband were made to feel very welcome at the ILC we were asked lots of questions about what I needed. I was shown various bath lifts which were explained in great detail about how to use, pros & cons to each one & we were also given an idea of the cost. The OT demonstrated each of the bath lifts to us before letting me try them out, she explained all the time what to do so I felt safe & was very happy to answer all our questions. The ILC was a great place to try out products before you buy them & making sure that it was the best lift for my needs. We left confident of our choice & was given a brochure & the details of where we could buy from locally. I would definitely recommend.
