  1. Review titled Bad practice totally bad service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 23 April 2024

It would seem even the simplest of tasks of ordering vital repeat medication are now beyond the capabilities of this practice You go to order online and it’s stating that all the medication needs reviewing by a medical practitioner so a call the following day leaves you with the reply of you will receive a call by Thursday to note Monday the call was placed with them which with the way they operate lately means no medication which is due to run out after the weekend The medication hasn’t been reviewed face to face for a long time now no real questions are ever asked it’s just re authorised regardless except this time they go one better and send you a text asking you to reply with the exact list of what you need seriously this is actually a disgusting way of communication for something vital yet when you send the list it says it can not be delivered twice you get through to the practice and they say they can’t see any text has been sent but will put your message through and someone will call you back 2 hours until they close and you still have no call so pop along to deliver it myself and what do you know they are closed cars about etc but calling explains that they are now closed for training call back tomorrow even though online says open this is not the first time having issues with medication the last time I had to request it for a second time as an emergency as the request went through but was for some reason reset back without my knowledge Makes me wonder if these practices are even checked up on as to the quality of care given as there clearly isn’t any at this place maybe if as much care was put into the patient care as it was to using the place as a glorified training facilty only people wouldn’t get frustrated that they need to complain because it’s not your life your playing with it’s ours I would appreciate that you don’t reply with the lie of get in touch to sort this matter out as you have no intention of doing so instead you send a form out with limited time to respond your views and it goes to a central body elsewhere no practice manager in site in this place

  2. Review titled Bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The patient care at this practice has become non existent you wait 2 weeks for a phone call from a specialist nurse that they arranged to receive a text saying they tried calling you twice and have rearranged a later date but you have no missed calls you ring them straight back reception obviously let’s the nurse know and you then get the call problem is it’s regular nurse they have obviously booked you with who isn’t qualified to deal with your issue and they tell you to contact the doctor knowing full well you won’t get an appointment any time soon even phone calls are now 2 or more weeks behind and that’s when you don,t have to chase for that as the call doesn’t arrive this going round in circles with this practice just to get timely care for health problems is becoming all too regular not just for my partner but other members of my family too They have said they are having a lot of problems with staff and back logs but still taking on new patients which is very worrying when you have health issues that are already not being addressed

  3. Review titled Very Poor Patient service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 February 2024

I have been posted around in a effort to get an appointment. It is my first time trying to secure one as I have an urgent need for medical care since cramping and bleeding for days got worrisome. However when I first called, I got told to call 111 as booking service is closed which I did and a nurse eventually told me to call Haxby for an appointment. I did call in the morning and was told to go fill a form online because appointments are not booked over the phone (Atleast I would have been told this the first time I called). I filled the form and was later told to go do a pregnancy test. Did that in the evening when I reasonably could and was blamed for doing it at that time so no appointment could be made and non the following day. I asked when can one be booked and I was rudely told none. To make it worse, I received a text later saying an appointment will be booked within 4 weeks or I could call them if urgent. Like calling has made any difference since I have been doing that. I am not surprised to see the negative reviews because the service really needs a revamp.

  4. Review titled Absolutely disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2024

I have been with this practice since 2015 and it has definitely got worse over the years. I recently had a small surgical procedure on Friday. I rung 3 days after my procedure (Monday) to book for a suture removal for the following Monday as it was due out then and was told they would get back to me. It came round to Thursday and I rung again to chase it up and was told they would get back to me. It has now been 14 days since I first made the phone call to ask for a suture removal and they have still not contacted me for an appointment. Absolutely disappointing and I have had no choice but to remove the sutures myself.

  5. Review titled Ridiculous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Becky Norton - Posted on 28 March 2023

Joke of a service! I started my journey to get a prescription back in early November! Waiting list for an appointment, finally see a doctor but need blood tests, another waiting list. Then waiting list for the results. I had to go into the practice to get someone to call me back regarding the results 6 weeks after they were taken. Then waiting again for information on what prescription I could be offered. Always told we’ll let you know and no one ever does. Now I’m 6 months after starting this and no further on, symptoms just getting worse and worse. Absolutely no care.

  6. Review titled A joke and unacceptable

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kayleigh - Posted on 25 January 2023

Been with Haxby since they opened on Kingswood and always had problems with them. Only one doctor has actually pushed to help me with my main health problem and that’s been within the last year(after chasing it up for basically 25 years). Now, it took over a month to get my son booked in for his 12 week vaccinations; he’s now 16 weeks old. I received a reminder this morning followed by a cancellation text. They lecture you on why the vaccinations need to be so far apart yet mess you around when trying to get booked in. Think it’s time to look at different surgeries as Haxby have become a joke and have no care for their patients, personally feel they should close their doors since they can’t keep the appointments they give you or mess you around when trying to get an appointment. Even the health visitor said it isn’t acceptable for how long they take to give appointments between vaccinations.

  7. Review titled Continuously disappoints.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Joe Bennett - Posted on 24 June 2022

Extremely disappointed with this practice. I have very rarely accessed it in my time whilst living in the area but I have needed it this last month more than ever. Unable to get a routine appointment for love nor money. 2.5 hour waiting times on the phone to only be cut off and have to attend in person. Online referral completely pointless as it’s just been found an opportunity for them to rob you off. We wonder why our ED attendances are through the roof and this is exactly why. Because it is so much easier to just walk in and get seen to because they can’t turn you away or fob you off like the GP does. NHS Hull have a lot to answer for.
