The nurse I had my appointment with was fantastic. I didn't feel a thing when she took my blood and she even asked the doctor to pop in and advise on another issue. The doctor was great too, he took the time to come see me and was patient in explaining things. I really can't fault this surgery, all staff pleasant and always as helpful as possible.

  4. Review titled Always helpful

at 07-59 tried ringing "Practice closed" retry... At 08-00 you are 35th in the queue... to be fair the numbers went down quite quickly and I was able to ask for an appointment. I was offered a telephone call "later today". The lady who rang just before 12 was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She listened patiently to my list of symptoms, asked me a few questions and answered all mine confidently. A course of treatment was suggested, medication and tests were arranged. I felt that she cared about me and that I was in safe hands. I know that the NHS gets a bad press but the staff at The Simpson cannot be faulted. Thanks

  6. Review titled Terrible Patient Care

Rated 1 star out of 5

A week ago my husband started with a painful and inflamed foot. On Monday he phoned for an appointment. Was 26 in queue and when he got through, was told there were no appointments. He complained and in the end got an appointment with a nurse. Decided he didn't want this and got an appointment at the Hospital where he was seen, sent for a blood test and prescribed medication. The person there said they would send an email to his GP to organise the medication and he should be able to get it the next day. Next day (Tue) he could not get the medication from the pharmacy. He phoned the surgery and said that the hospital had sent an email to the surgery to prescribe the medication. He got their stock answer "we have not received the email" but then, as usual, they take another look and yes they miraculously find it. He was told he needed a doctor's appointment before he could have this medication and was given one for Thursday. This appointment was with a nurse again and she only wanted to give him painkillers. He said no to this and wanted something to clear this up. Eventually late Thursday afternoon he finally got a call from a doctor who said that he could have the prescription that had originally been prescribed by the hospital on Monday. If he had received this prescription on Tuesday it would have saved all his pain and suffering. The patient care at this surgery is zero.

  8. Review titled Continues to fail.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Very difficult to get an appointment. Managed to by phoning immediately at ,8.00am, requesting GP face to face appointment but told none available so has to rely on a telephone consultation. Phone went at 10.20M but immediately went to voicemail. (Accept that was probably my phone setting). But phoned back and told to await a re-call. The message on the answerphone was from a practice nurse, not a GP; he said he'd phone again later but didn't do so. Also, had recent hospital consultation and prescribed medication. The GP was written to ((I have a copy), which advises ongoing prescription of medication prescribed. Phoned to ask for a repeat prescription but told I'd have to speak with GP before new medication can be put on repeat basis - Catch22 - can't get to speak to GP.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we appreciate all feedback. We have multiple options available to book appointments with a clinician including urgent on the day, pre-bookable which are available up to 6 weeks in advance and enhanced access appointments. Patients are able to make these appointments online, via telephone or by attending the practice. The Practice have a number of different clinicians working including GP’s, Advanced Clinical Practitioners (prescribers), Senior Clinical Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioner, Assistant Practitioners, Physician Associate and Health Care Assistant. Patient’s are booked in with the most appropriate clinician for the patient booking reason. Patients should be informed of the clinician on booking and this feedback will be passed to reception staff. If you would like me to look into this in more detail, I would be grateful if you could contact me on 0161 203 5550 or email mhcc.simpson@nhs.net Thank you Lyndsey Tunney Operations Manager

  9. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

This GP surgery is a waste of time, I personally went a dropped of a letter to get some tables that were already 2 weeks late to be told they would be given that day, 3 days later still no tablets. Plus what makes the people working in this surgery more important that everyone else, You are not allowed in the surgery still and have to stand outside in the rain why they come to the Door. On top of that the staff are rude when you do eventually get to speak to them, and all you get is No as they are working from home.
