  1. Review titled Good Response to a query

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I want to say thank you to the Clinical Pharmacist (who I can’t name as the system won’t allow a name )for sorting out my confusion over my Ozempic injections.

  2. Review titled Hate the appointment system, lack of receptionist support.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2024

As I was unable to access the appointment bookings and cannot use the telephone due to specific disability, I followed what was stated on the surgery website to book an appointment "visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm". I have needed an appointment for over a month and so took myself over to the surgery (20 minutes drive away) to make an appointment. Was told that I couldn't do that but would need to telephone or use the online booking service. I am unable to and didn't want to explain to the receptionist in full ear shot of those waiting in the reception area all about my disability. However, there was no offer to help or support me to make an appointment - which has now become quite urgent as it's been left for far too long. I don't want to waste the time of A&E but with pain and losing my ability to move one of my limbs, I was hoping that by going down to the surgery to make an appointment, I would have been able to get an appointment at some point in the future. I left upset. My GP is lovely and would never have a bad word to say about him. But, for the rest of the surgery and how the appointments are run, unfortunately I have nothing good to say at all about them at this current time.

  3. Review titled Pensioner 71 struggling to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Christina Mary Ellement - Posted on 18 April 2024

Trying to get an appointment for my 71 year old husband who has multiple health problems and whos prescription has been refused when the pharmacy requested it. This morning i had a text message asking about one of the 4 problems I contacted the surgery about. What about the other 3 problems ? No point ringing as will be referred to the on line system again but I completed that yesterday and it hasn't worked.

  4. Review titled good practise , but website not pleasing

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 January 2024

I have found the practise very helpful but the website is a nightmare e consult takes you to various medical problems to allow symptom match ..but my specific symptoms are not there ..it is very complicated to navigate ..even when asking how to make an appointment via the question box it does not specify how .click on make an appointment and zilch..very frustrating and I am fairly computer literate ..those of an older generation probably loose the will to live and give up...practise itself is good and waiting times are also but you cannot book an appointment in advance even if GP wishes to see you in following week ..!

  5. Review titled GP is wonderful. Making an appointment is problematic.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 October 2023

I cannot fault my specific GP at all, he is warm, friendly and understanding of my needs. Making an appointment through econsult can be a nightmare as some of the questions are not constructed to meet specific needs, queries or questions and, if it is to make an appointment there is no way to indicate which specific surgery you wish to go to, either Wootton or Shortstown. But responding to the email sent confirming the appointment is fruitless as they are "undelivered". This is extremely frustrating and not at all helpful to those with communication needs - not everyone can communicate via telephone.

  6. Review titled Excellent help for asthma attack

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The nurses and GP responded very quickly when I came to the surgery with asthma difficulties. They treated me immediately until the ambulance arrived. They've also been caring and professional with my late husband throughout his life, living with multiple complex medical conditions.

  7. Review titled Beyond difficult to work out how to contact the practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2023

There are multiple apps, multiple ways they expect you to contact them. It is quite ridiculous. I am happy for contacting the surgery online, but it needs to be clear and on one system. There is the website, that is a bit of a joke really, the nhs App, Airmid uk SystmOnline. Really? And only some seem to talk to one another. make it simpler please.

Review titled Wootton Vale and Shortstown Surgery

    Replied on 05 September 2023

Dear Patient Thank you for these very helpful comments. We hear your frustration and agree with the comments that you have made. You will be pleased to hear that we are already in the process of taking action on some of the issues you have raised. We have recently decided to update and simplify our website and have signed up with a new supplier to redesign our site. Therefore, in the next couple of months, you will see a new improved website. Regarding your comments about the NHSApp, Airmid UK, and SystmOnline, please note that these are third party applications over which we have no control. If it is any consolation, these give us a bit of a headache, as well, because we have to assist our patients in registering and using these and, indeed, some others you haven't mentioned! For what it is worth, if asked, we recommend that you use the NHSApp. We understand that it is going to be upgraded soon and we think that, over time, it will become the system of choice. We hope you find these comments helpful and reassuring. All the very best The Management and staff at Wootton Vale and Shortstown Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 June 2023

I contacted the surgery via the on line app in the morning, described symptoms, within a few hours received an email link to where I could book a face to face appointment the next morning, attended the appointment, got a prescription and obtained medicine from the pharmacy that morning, all done in 24 hours, Receptionist and doctor very friendly and helpful, 10 out of 10 , very happy with the service I reviewed.
