  1. Review titled Thankyou for your wonderful care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Carden - Posted on 19 April 2024

My elderly mother spent 11 days on Ward 8. The whole team of Occupational, Speech and Language, Physio therapists; Nurses; Housekeepers; Doctors; Pharmacist; were caring, kind, thorough, respectful, friendly, professional, efficient- even with across county border social care referral. Even with pressures of shortage of staff and extremely busy times. I especially appreciated the respect in speaking directly to my mother rather than just to me (which so often happens elsewhere). Thankyou for helping us through a stressful, worrying time 🙂

  2. Review titled Highly incompetent

Rated 1 star out of 5

An embarrassment that they would keep someone in late 80's for more than 14 hours , they make you wait 4 and more hours just to discharge , I guess we live in an era of take taxpayers money and give back not much in return

  4. Review titled Terrible patient service

Rated 1 star out of 5

This trust is absolutely hopeless with no response. I left a message to a voice message that said calls will be responded to in the afternoon. That was 5 days ago. On calling the consultant, the secretary responded to the phone call and started to provide medical advice and proceeded to give diagnosis on a very complicated situation with no empathy whatsoever. It has driven me to private practice. What happens to people who cannot afford private care? Now they are relying on advice from secretaries with no medical training? Absolutely terrible place. A street vendor May have better bed side manners than those who operate this trust!

  5. Review titled Extended patient suffering

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had my appointment at Wycombe Hospital, I literally parked up outside hospital and got a call to say my appointment was cancelled because nobody bother to send over my MRI scans to the consultant. They had 1 month to send over those results but due to their incompetence my suffering has now extended!

  6. Review titled compassionate care for my father

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ruth Hind - Posted on 14 August 2022

My 86 year old father had a stroke on 19th June and was cared for in both ward 8 and 9 at Wycombe hospital. The communication from the start was amazing. When we came to the ward all members of staff made time for us to update us on my Dad's progress. Their care towards him was both compassionate, respectful and professional. I was also very impressed at the effective teamwork between each of the disciplines. Every member of staff made this very stressful and worrying time for our family so much more bearable and comforting. My Dad has made good progress thanks to all the hard work from both wards. Massive thank you!!

  7. Review titled Suboptimal care and

After being sent by GP, we found ourselves with a 10 weeks baby with fever, waiting for 6 hours in the A&E department for an urine sample examination. This was their explanation for a dipstick test.. not to mention that I had to show one of the doctors where the GP notes are in the red book, as she said there are none in there..and had no idea where to look after those notes. After we lost our patience (after 6 hours) and asked for explanations, (a dipstick test shouldn’t take more than 5 mins) we have been sent home and asked to bring another urine sample the next morning, as the one they took in the A&N got lost. We gave them another sample (2 days ago) and since then, no one bothered to tell us the results, what is wrong with the baby.. what should we do or go, or if there is any treatment… children under 3 months are considered high risk and emergencies.. well.. my baby has fever still and no sign from the hospital in 2 days. They went radio silent.. If we try to call… noone seems to know what are we talking about (apart from long time waiting on the line to pick up). This kind of service worries me, as Stoke Mandeville is the nearest hospital. I wish I would never need to go back there!
