From the very kind receptionist, to the nurse and the doctor, we had a fabulous care for our child. Thank you to the entire team to get us through so promptly. Your hard work and commitment is appreciated.

An ambulance transferred my son from Huddersfield to Halifax hospital and they were the kindest team. They were amazing and caring with my son and could not thank them enough for their help and dedication.

Despite all negative media coverage of the NHS, my experience from my initial visit to A &E to discharge has been first class.

  4. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 85 year old husband was treated by vascular consultants and staff subsequent to a Transient Ischaemic Attack. The speed and effectiveness of both tests administered and arrangements for surgery were impressive. The standard of care, including the range of tests, explanations, professional knowledge and skill could not have been bettered anywhere in the world. We are truly grateful.

  6. Review titled Questionable practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Derek Roach - Posted on 01 July 2022

I took an 88 year old gentleman to A&E at the request of his GP. A reasonable transition through the system with a man with heart failure was concluded with a push to the foyer where he was given his diagnosis, prescription supplied, cannula removed and discharged. In a public area? Nice work NHS, not.

  7. Review titled Appalling booking / referral system

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    1) on july 15th I had an appointment at huddersfield royal at 1015. At 0920 I got a call saying it was cancelled. At 1010 another call saying it was un-cancelled! 2) at 1630 on the 15th a call saying appointment rearranged for august 1st, but to ignore confirmation letter, as appointment cancelled. Appointment finally rearranged for 21st. 3) on 23rd july I got letter dated the18th saying appointment cancelled, but no details of which one. I called to find out which appointment, and was told that it was for the 15th - the letter posted three days after the cancelled appointment date! This system is a complete disgraceful inexcusable, shambles wasting an enormous amount of people’s time and resources. No wonder the health service is in such a mess. For goodness sake sort it out.
