  2. Review titled Brilliant care and clinical treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a very painful and swollen finger. The team were brilliant all round from the initial reception to the clinical staff. Quick diagnosis and successful treatment to drain the infection site. Further advice and support, antibiotic prescribed. All staff were incredibly helpful and understanding. Great atmosphere of care. Well done to all.

I've attended Fleetwood health centre on a few occasions, each and every time I've received brilliant care and service from all staff including the receptionists, nurses and doctors, the building is immaculately clean, and an onsite pharmacy is a bonus, it's a definite 10 from me 👌.

  4. Review titled Excellent service

My thumb suffered a nasty dog bite yesterday. I visited Fleetwood Health and Wellbeing Centre shortly after at around 1800 and was patched up and given a prescription for antibiotics within 30 mins by the most helpful and cheerful staff. Top notch service.

Whilst away for a few days I needed help with something in my eye which was very painful. On the recommendation of a local chemist I called in. Without any questions being asked I was greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist who quickly got me seen by a nurse practitioner. Thank you all for the wonderful and professional service provided and in such lovely premises. You help was so appreciated thank you .

  6. Review titled Shining star in NHS

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Barbara Walker - Posted on 09 May 2023

I was in great distress with fever from a sinus infection and could hardly walk due to lack of balance. My own doctor's surgery could only offer an appointment in 3weeks' time so they suggested that I attend the walk in centre. It took 30 minutes for me to be seen, which was far less time than I expected. The doctor that attended to me was patient, sympathetic and thorough in examining me. She listened carefully to my replies to her questions and explained the process of the diagnosis. She came up with a plan for my treatment and sought my agreement to the course of action. She let me know the timescale that she expected improvement to begin and reassured me by saying that I should come back if the treatment had not worked by the end of the course of medication. What a great doctor. The pharmacy was quick, friendly and efficient, so my whole experience was just what I needed whilst feeling a bit muzzy headed and ill. I'm sure that had I not gone to the walk in centre, I would have ended up in Accident and emergency. As it is, I'm nearly at the end of the course of medication, and I am improving all the time. I hope this feedback reaches the clinical staff. I'm so grateful not only that this facility exists, but is also a shining example of what our wonderful National health service can be. Many, many thanks to you all at Fleetwood medical centre.

  7. Review titled Unhelpful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Linda Preston - Posted on 18 May 2023

My GP receptionist sent me to this practice, which informed me that this was for emergencies only, so a complete waste of time given that my husband has Parkinson’s Disease and I have no support from anyone whatsoever. I have been fobbed off by Lockwood Surgery, Poulton for well over 5 + years with the same problem that I attended here for, which had been waking me up daily when I need all the sleep and rest possible under the circumstances. We are supposed to trust our surgery to go where they suggested as there is no GP available until 13/06/23, not sent from pillar to post wasting time and petrol going to Fleetwood for nothing but rude couldn’t give a damn attitudes!!

  8. Review titled The Special Respiratory GP's / Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2023

My own doctor's practice made an appointment for me to see a Respiratory GP on Monday afternoon. I did not have Covid however, towards the end of last week / weekend, I had sheer difficulties in controlling my breathing and a tight chest. I cannot name any names as much as I would like to do so. My appointment was 2.45pm on the 6th March 2023 and the GP who saw me was simply, out of this world. I hope that the doctor does get to see my thanks and gratitude. His expertise in the respiratory system and identifying potential causes of my symptoms, was assuring. His approach, demeanour, supportive and identifying underlying symptoms were explained to me in a way that I could understand. The GP also advised that if the treatment that he was giving me did not improve to the correct level, I would need to go into hospital for oxygen and prevention of Sepsis. I just want to thank this doctor, who simply was an 'Ambassador for the NHS'. Thank you.

I wanted to thank the Diagnostic Imaging team after my visit today. Despite what appeared a hectic Monday morning for them they were professional, warm, and friendly throughout all my interactions with them.

  10. Review titled Poor Staff Conduct and Communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2022

Attended the walk in centre for an injury which has occurred a couple of weeks ago. Staff member when I explained that the injury had occurred a couple of weeks ago bluntly replied with ‘why are you here then’. What this staff member failed to ask was if I had taken any anti-inflammatory tablets etc as I thought it may have been a muscle related injury. It felt like that I had been an inconvenience to her and interrupted her day by being a Health Centre regarding my health. She rather reluctantly organised a doctors appointment for myself the next day at a local surgery where the doctor prescribed a card for an x-ray at the Health Centre. On arrival this same staff member was in attendance and I explained I was here now for an X-Ray. She abruptly told us that X-Ray closed at half 4 and we had to come back tomorrow. When we pointed out that online it said it closed at 8pm she rudely stated ‘well that’s incorrect isn’t it’. Following my return the next day for my x-ray I was met by 2 lovely staff members who explained everything and were very apologetic about my previous experience. But this was the last of then politeness as I was met by a staff member from X-Ray who whisked me away into the X-Ray room. This particular staff member started being overly aggressive manoeuvring my foot into different positions for the X-Ray. Whilst I understood what they wanted me to do, I was struggling to move my foot into the position they required due to the pain. This staff member to me started becoming increasingly annoyed by my failure to do this simple thing, started being rude and blunt, and I personally felt upset and emotional about this. I understand that these staff members have a difficult job but what I don’t understand is how a staff member can be so rude, blunt & unhelpful to a person who is clearly struggling because of pain and the fact that I had never had an x-ray before, to where a young child goes in afterwards and like a light switch change to Polite, welcoming & helpful person. My whole experience in this matter has made me think twice about using the NHS again as I was under the impression that these Staff members were here to help and understand what people may be going through both Physically and Mentally. For someone who hasn’t visited a hospital for a personal injury for over 10 years the standard of the NHS staff has greatly reduced over this time
