Experienced very high blood pressure and chest pains so attended UCH A&E as per NHS advice. Prompt, faultless and comprehensive care given in a clean and efficient environment, the very best on offer by the NHS. Yes this is a genuine review.

  2. Review titled Efficient and caring service from beginning to end

From the GP's call to being seen, having tests done and then seen by a doctor and sent on my way I saw such good care, patience, calmness and kindness towards me and the other people in the waiting room. I often direct patients here as a GP but it was great to see it from the other side - hurrah for the NHS and the Ambulatory care team at UCH and a big thank you!

I should like to express my gratitude for the outstanding care and cheerful empathy I received after breaking my hip and undergoing a replacement operation. Staff from all over the world were cheerfully working long hours 24/7 to meet my needs during this vulnerable period. I am full of admiration for their commitment.

  4. Review titled Smiles all round

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I dropped my friend at the entrance to the hospital and we were immediately greeted by a wonderful man who appeared as I got out of the car, he fetched a wheelchair and took her to her appointment. We were so relieved! I then parked the car and returned. Every member of staff I spoke to was helpful and polite and I eventually located my friend sitting in a wheelchair ready to be taken downstairs for her lift home. Thank you.

I had foot surgery at the hospital and my care and treatment was excellent. The staff were both caring and kind. Every part of my procedure was explained to me and I was made to feel cared for and comfortable. I want to thank all the staff that attended to me.

  6. Review titled High level of professionalism, care and dedication

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came to uclh with a diagnosis of pneumonia. As it turns out, it was a severe one. The level of care, thoroughness and dedication that I experienced from every member of staff at uclh are unparalleled. They took my symptoms very seriously, ran all the tests and scans that were necessary (X-ray, CT, blood tests, ECG) to determine the degree and location of the pneumonia and exclude the possibility of complications given my symptoms and medical history. The wait was not particularly long, I got assessed by a nurse within less than ten minutes and directed to majors only a fee minutes after they had taken a blood sample, communication was good and transparent, procedures and examinations ran smoothly and whilst waiting for my results, the nurse checked my vital signs regularly. The clinician who examined me was incredibly kind, professional, caring and dedicated to assessing my condition and coming up with the right treatment plan. At the end of the day, I even got a vegan sandwich. I would always come back to uclh as the staff there are very professional, knowledgeable and caring.

  7. Review titled Departmental notification and the use of the word Home

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Hospital staff from a different service in the hospital do not seem to know when a person is already an inpatient in the hospital. This should come up when their record is open as this could cause distress to the person at home. Staff (not nurses) usually tell the patient when they are leaving the hospital they are going Home to when they sometimes mean another facility and not where they actually live before they when into hospital. This can be distressing for patients and misleading to family and carers.

  8. Review titled Terrible phone service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Direct line to the Neurology Department is constantly offline. Their email responses are made with broke English, one line sentences that are littered grammatical errors. The switchboard answers calls for 9 different hospitals and are unable to provide a warm transfer - cold transfers to dead lines only. Impossible to make contact with a competent member of staff in any department, let alone contacting the department that I desperately need to speak with. Unfortunately, being based on the other side of the country means making a physical appearance costly and impractical. And given my repeat and persistent experiences online and on the phone, I am having serious doubts about the service capabilities of this hospital.

  9. Review titled Cannot fault the University College London Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was recently seen in Accident and Emergency and the Ambulatory Climic for a derp vein thrombosis and bilateral Pulmonary Embolisms. The treatment I had by medical and nursing staff was second to none. Even though the junior doctors were on strike I was seen quickly and had the necessary tests promptly. I feel lucky to live close to the hospital. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended a&e during he Jnr doctors strike although I would never have known had there not been informative signs everywhere. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist, triage nurse, doctors, phlebotomist and ct scanning staff were all so attentive and kind. I recently attended darent Valley Hospital in dartfort which was awful, such a contrast between the two. The swiftness and attentiveness of the staff at uclh made me feel like I was in private health care! I really felt like I mattered. Top class staff!
