  1. Review titled Ineffective and awkward

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 September 2022

The person I had was very sweet, however, it was no better help than just writing in a diary or going for coffee with a friend. I was expecting more 'help' and guidance but was met with awkward silences, finishing sessions early, and no real way to explore further into why I feel like I do, etc. I wasn't after some magical cure, just a bit more support and emotional outlet. Overall ended up dreading each session and leaving the service, having not really felt like I could say much more. Over the telephone appointments are super impersonal, especially after waiting well over a year for this short amount of disappointing sessions. Just very disheartened.

I have had a brilliant experience with my counselor. I have learnt so much about myself and my ability to control my PTSD. Would definitely recommend this service

  3. Review titled More than I could ever have asked for..

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My counsellor was (is) an amazing, intelligent, compassionate person with so much empathy and ability to help me navigate the complex world after leaving an abusive relationship. I honestly don't know where I'd be without this support. They've improved my life in so many important ways. Truly life changing. I can't be specific because of my situation, but I think improving access to psycological therapies are the crown of the National Health Service..I'm so grateful to both my counsellor and the therapist who helped at assessment stage. Improving Access to Psycological Therapy sets the standard the rest of the National Health Services service needs to aim at. My very sincere heartfelt thanks.
