  1. Review titled Passed on without any analytical review!

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 April 2024

I was initially allowed to visit to get help with a caveat that I may well need other, more specific help ...never got that far, had no real one-on-one review on which to base a what to do with me next ...simply a final meeting with a we think we're unable to help you where I was passed on by way of an email with recommendations to where I could pay for anger management therapist organisations ...sadly, a waste of mine and there time. Very poor, would not recommend!

  2. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have a very annoying habit of whistling under my breath, tunes that are playing in my head all the time, hence the referral. The service is clearly geared up for stress and depression, and I'm neither stressed nor depressed, so they won't help me. They suggested I got private CBT therapy to rid myself of this habit - but I can't afford it. I asked if the habit started causing excessive stress would they help me, and they said they'd only help with the stress and not the root cause. In other words - useless.

  3. Review titled Awful experience, serious concerns re badly managed!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by M Power - Posted on 07 June 2022

Lost any trust or faith in this service. Despite knowing that waiting times are very long for treatment. At the height of a anxiety and depression episode my experience with IAPT just exacerbated my symptoms. Evidently, poorly managed and they don't actually care how they upset you and disregard you, = Awful! So, there I was' biting the bullet ' seeking support. Booked in for telephone assessment a week later, creating worry and anxiety but determined to seek help therefore this appt' was important to me. Sat by phone and nothing! Waited 10 mins and called them only to be told I was uncontactable, while explaining no missed calls etc they explained must have a wrong number for me, funny that as at that point I receive a text on very same number to say had not kept appt' and uncontactable?? This was very anxiety provoking! Was then booked in for the same the following week....Unbelievable! Same thing happens...Couldn't make it up! Obvs complained again, while left extremely upset and questionable as to what is going on. Was informed ( they admitted ) the assessor simply did not keep the appt' with me. Third attempt / appt made and this happened with a trainee...All good! Booked in for another phone appt' following week+ as trainee needs to take to supervision and would then be able to feedback to me, what / if options available. Honestly! Would you believe, this appt' then did not happen, after anxiously awaiting for the call and hoping for some options of help. So upsetting and damaging for my already hard to manage well being...Obvs complained again as feel duty bound that if this is happening to me it must be happening to others, perhaps those vulnerable, alone and unable to complain etc... I was left very concerned and furious that folk are being treated this way and could face no more effort when faced with futile communications and the disrespect of the lack of care or consideration received. But I felt a responsibility that this be raised at senior level as is a very serious concern when supposed to be helping those with mental health support needs, not making worse. I get and respect that folk in this type of work want to help and care but really! So badly let down and at end of day no one cares enough to actually help and your then left alone to deal with and make sense of how you could be disparaged so and how this could happen to you. Spoke with an understanding team manager but there was nothing actually redeeming and feels they do not actually care and to say otherwise is ' lip service ' given the poor care and service I endured. Asked to be escalated. Received email from clinical lead, apologising and offering a PALS leaflet. Responded and not heard back since...Really! Beyond disappointment and left angry that this happens to patients. / clients. Hate having to leave such negative review but its warranted given my experience and I truly hope others are having a better experience?
