  1. Review titled Amazing staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Taken in on 4th May with a bruised and swollen knee. Thank you to the staff that looked after me, kind and attentive. Special mention to the best hot chocolate maker, taxi organiser and crutch teacher in the world. I'm now mastering the crutches with the help of my friend that is staying with me for a few days. We are truly blessed to have this amazing service. Thank you NHS!!!!! 🥰😚💙👏👏👏🌈

  2. Review titled Extremely caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having my first broken bone, I went to my appointment very nervous. While I didn’t think I had waited for particularly long, the nurse was still apologetic and took me to my appointment. There the doctor and nurse took the time to explain everything to me in detail, chatted to me and made me laugh also answering my (many) questions. Having to have a bone reset made me upset as I was scared but several staff stayed with me through it, reassuring me all the way and taking the time to support the effected limb for me. The nurse explained how to administer my medication at home and kept checking I was 100% ok before I left. For what was a distressing time, the team took a lot of stress out of the situation and I’m so grateful for it. Thank you to the team, you really helped me so much x

  3. Review titled No one answers the phone.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have been ringing on and off since 9am this morning to the Stoke hospital. I have rang Physiotherapy Department and the main switch board. No one at the hospital is picking up the phone. This isn't the first time I have had this trouble, I rang one or two weeks ago the same no answer problem. Today I have also been ringing Stafford hospital in the hope main switchboard will answer. But no , this is ridiculous. I dont even have an email to contact . What do I do? There are receptionist's , doctors secretary's and main switchboard operators , throughout a whole day not one person answers.

  4. Review titled Caring, efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was seen by the consultant quickly who was friendly and efficient. The health care assistants and nurses were also really friendly and I felt very well taken care of. I think the is is the bet A&E experience I could have had.

My husband came into A&E last week and I am entirely grateful for the care and professionalism which was provided by the whole of the team which started with the receptionist, triage nurse, nursing and consultant teams who recognised how ill he had become and quickly gave a diagnosis and medical intervention.

I recently had a knee replacement operation at Stafford hospital, Elective Orthopaedic Ward. The care and attention I received whilst there was outstanding. I can’t praise all the staff from consultant to ward cleaner more highly. Thank you.

  8. Review titled Mixed review but constructive.

My Mother has been admitted a few times due to respiratory issues. She has had good and bad experiences. Some great staff, some harsh. This time around, she says that she has met some lovely Nurses. However, the hospital needs to put more focus on nutrition. How can one get a speedy recovery with food that is not nutritious. My Mother was told that there was not a vegetarian option meal for her one day and this is not acceptable. Food is often overcooked, therefore nutritional value is lost. If you want patients to get out and recover quickly, nutrition is important. Sugary fatty foods will not heal the body but rather add to further issues. The most important part of healing is nutrition and most diseases begin in the stomach. Also it would be nice if the Physical Therapists were a little more patient and listen when the patient says that they are having difficulty with mobility. Not all patients are pretending and would love to run out of the hospital let alone walk if their bodies allowed them to. On a final note, I pray for improvement and protection of staff and patients; that there will be compassion always. Every individual is important.

  9. Review titled First class care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came into A&E via ambulance ,I felt unwell and crashed my car. From the front door I was treated with kindness and respect. I was settled into B bay, there were mostly older people in there, some of which were frail and confused. I witnessed compassionate care from all staff towards those patients...it was heartwarming. Throughout the hours that I was in the department, my treatment was exemplary. Thank you to everyone...you do a fantastic job

  10. Review titled Masks should be asked to be worn in respiratory cases

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2024

I was admitted ? Heart attack ecg fine so was left in waiting room .It was Xmas eve waiting room had respiratory cases I had a mask on anyway .After ten was asked to move into the other a and e waiting room a very small room .Me being the only one without a respiratory problem and the only one wearing a mask .The patients had been talking how ill they were etc . I was in that small room for about an hour when I then spoke to a member of staff .I said making me sit with them I was not happy about .I was then told to sit in the corridor. That was the 24 th dec I have now been off work with there exact same symptoms since the 2 nd .i have had to cancel an operation i have waited for for over ten months .The staff I have no complaints about but the system of being in with patients that obviously were very ill .I like I say have now been to the drs several times which is dr time which could of been avoided as you can imagine I’m not happy . I could have ended up using a bed which you have shortages of .I could not of caught this anywhere else I’ve remained at home with my my chest pain which is a rota cuff problem —-this in all could of been avoided with common sense
