  1. Review titled Every stage was thorough and efficient

    by JoannaJ054 - Posted on 27 December 2023

I attended A and E on 20th Dec with a badly scratched cornea, a lot of pain and infection. I had prompt triage, my eye rinsed, treatment and medication the same night and follow up in the eye clinic the next day. Every stage was thorough and efficient. A and E was busy but well run, a Junior Drs strike was on but this didn’t impact on patient care. Staff were relaxed and efficient. I can’t fault any aspect of my visit and treatment.

  2. Review titled The staff couldn’t have been any more pleasant, helpful and reassuring

Had a really positive visit to Yeovil A&E recently when my mum accidentally took too many blood pressure tablets and was advised by 111 to take her in. The staff (nursing staff and doctor) couldn’t have been any more pleasant, helpful and reassuring towards mum, especially as she had to stay in for six hours to be monitored. They were thorough and professional. Very impressed.

After a heart attack, my medicine caused internal bleeding. I was referred to urology and had an MRI, both within two weeks. Kidney stones were found and within another two weeks I had an appointment at Bristol to have them broken and smashed. I cannot thank enough the thoroughness and treatment of this consultant. I could not have asked for quicker care. Thank you so very much.

  4. Review titled I could not have wished for better care

    by JD77 - Posted on 24 September 2023

I contacted Preston Grove Medical Centre, Yeovil, and spoke to a very kind receptionist who passed my message on. I was invited in to see the urgent care team that same afternoon. The doctor phoned me the following day and organised to an urgent ultrasound and gave me dietary advice. I had an ultrasound scan where gallstones were found. That week my GP phoned me to see how I was. I saw a consultant at Yeovil District Hospital. I followed the dietary advice and had no more attacks. A Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy was carried out on me at Yeovil District Hospital. All the nurses, doctors and consultants were amazing. Their attitude and kindness, let alone their skill, made the whole experience much less traumatic and a very positive one. I could not have wished for better care and the time scale was very acceptable (Just over five months from start to finish) I also found the Day Surgery Clinic to be spotlessly clean. I wanted to send this feedback as there is such bad press around the NHS and I really do feel that everyone involved in my story needed a shout out because they really are unsung heroes. Many thanks for letting me tell this story.

  5. Review titled Hydrocelle Surgery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Philip Bray - Posted on 22 March 2024

To Yeovil Urology Surgery, I attended Yeovil Day Surgery Center on 15/03/2023 and recieved Hydrocelle Surgery , the surgeon did not see me after to inform me if it was a sucess or not , I had the Hydrocelle for a long time (3 years ) Which had not been operated on before because of Covid and waiting lists . it the mean time i managed the swelling by self aspiration , which was sucessfull . I considered the surgery and resulting swelling given to me last week as barbaric and Medievil in nature , i see the procedure is more than 100 yers old . Can i suggest that some more effort is given to help with self aspiration which i would it consider to be much less invasive and safer . the fact that no antibiotic was issued for such gross damage to senstive area is also quite concerning ,
