Very disappointed with Christchurch hospital advising that the 2 Week urgent cancer referral has a 3 - 4 week delay. What a horrendous service.

I went to Christchurch Hospital today for an X Ray. Thought I might have a bit of a wait so arrived with a magazine to read. I didn’t have a chance to open it… not that I am complaining… straight in and out before my scheduled appt time. Fabulous. Very efficient and polite. Thank you

I arrived at A&E with intense ongoing pain in hand and arm. Three nights without sleep. GP had already diagnosed possible CTS. I was assessed immediately by a nurse. Within 2 minutes was checked more closely by another nurse. In less than 5 minutes was seen by a junior/trainee doctor who listened, checked with a colleague then gave advice and printed information. Also fitted a firm brace - which has definitely helped. Altogether a positive, reassuring experience even though the pain continues as I wait for orthopaedic appointment. Also a clean, pleasant environment with due privacy and understanding. My husband had to drop me off as he went in search of parking. Three different people he spoke to were extremely helpful in enabling him to find me - they were able to track exactly where I was in the hospital system. Thank you to everyone involved. Real teamwork!

Dear GMC Sorry to hear you have had such a painful time that has kept you awake at nights. We hope you are now more comfortable. Thank you for your feedback about the service you received and the care and attention given to both you and your husband. It is always nice to hear when the whole hospital work together to make sure everyone gets the attention they need, whether that is medical care or wayfinding around the hospital and back to their loved ones. Thank you for noting how reassuring and attentive the staff were to your condition and how promptly they responded to your pain to make you more comfortable. We will pass on your kind words to the department to be shared with the staff. Regards Patient Experience Team
