My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in March 2024 after a visit to A&E at another hospital. We were transferred to Alder Hey the next day. Honestly, I cannot fault a single person we have met and the service we have received has been amazing. I feel so grateful to be under such a wonderful hospital. Special thanks to the wonderful Diabetes Team (I cannot leave names on this review, but they know who they are).

  3. Review titled No help at all

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Only wanted one copy of diagnosis. On hold for 25 minutes. Call handler sounded like I'd just woken her from an afternoon nap. She couldn't have been anymore disinterested if she tried. Apparently emails can't be sent from hospital to parents although they have before.

  4. Review titled Chaotic & Unclean

Rated 1 star out of 5

What a terrible, stressful experience using the Pharmacy! The wait was ridiculously lengthy, the waiting area was over-crowded, unclean & had little care given to viral spread! Staffing levels were clearly too low & have seemed to get worse over time

As Chief Pharmacist I am responsible for the Pharmacy Outpatient service. I am sorry to hear about your poor experience. I am constantly working with the team to monitor, review and develop the outpatient pharmacy service so that it meets the needs of our patients. After consulting with the Trust Domestic Services manager a change of cleaning schedule is being explored to meet the demands within the department.

  5. Review titled Pharmacy has wait times longer than A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Ava B - Posted on 02 August 2022

What a terrible experience we had at the pharmacy! Staff were too busy to adequately explain dosage & were unable to take the time out to assist us with questions about side-effects. We waited for nearly an hour & a half to be seen. My child is clinically extremely vulnerable & she was exhausted by the wait. So much so, she was unable to attend her sister’s birthday. When I explained this to the pharmacy staff, they really couldn’t care less
