I phoned Cranleigh Health Centre on behalf of a friend who had fallen when out walking and my daughter who is a physio suspected a minor bone in his right wrist might be fractured and said to get it Xrayed. We are lucky in that we have an Xray machine in the village but unfortunate in that our local Health Centre refused to provide the authorisation and said to go to RSCH accident and emergency or Haselmere. Why cannot our own doctors assess when a patient needs an Xray. I am now faced with having to drive to Haselmere over icy roads (and I am 78) when we have the facility under a mile away. Something is wrong somewhere.

An enormous thank you for a superb experience when I attended an appointment today for an ultrasound. The staff were extremely professional they made me feel very relaxed and the service was first class, thank you all and our NHS I am so grateful to have.
