Attended with a cough ... Dr H sent me straight to A&E, via taxi, where I was admitted as inpatient for 8 days. Not what I expected! Car safely stored at GPs garage for me !!

It is incredibly difficult to book an appointment : the system has no flexibility or options besides phoning on the day : You have a greater chance of winning the lottery .Sadly I have no other option than to leave

  3. Review titled Very efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having had to deal with other GP practices on behalf of my parents, I have to say how absolutely brilliant St John's are in comparison. I've recently had an issue and the team (GP, nurses & pharmacist) all dealt with my swiftly and efficiently - a fabulous service.

  4. Review titled Medically very good. but administratively a shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ingrid - Posted on 23 January 2023

The facility of Ask My GP available for only 20mins each day @ 08:00am is ludicrous. The Receptionists have proved to be very unhelpful and definitely do not represent the excellent quality of the medical staff. The inability to ask for an appointment on a specific date means that its most difficult for the patient to arrange transport to see the Doctor. And the information provided as to whether one has to contact another hospital or phone numbers are out of date and lead to confusion. As an administrator having an appointment system that patients can be offered a date in advance (eg. a week in advance on a certain date would be helpful to the GP & also to the Administrator each morning to know what is available). The Covid & Flu clinics were well organised and ran well but daily medical appointments are a shambles. This lack of administration cannot be supportive to the Medical Staff.

  5. Review titled Horrendous practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Horrible practice. Impossible to get an appointment, AskmyGP only on for a couple of minutes each day. Receptionists aim is to deter people from seeing any doctors and their manner is horrible. We are having to go private at considerable cost.

  6. Review titled Excellent team at St Johns.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Callanan - Posted on 07 October 2022

Our whole family are patients at St Johns and we could not be more impressed. My husband and I have both had health issues recently and have been treated promptly and professionally. We have both been referred to hospital specialists. My parents have both needed a lot of time and support during the last year and we could not have asked for better care from the whole team at St Johns. They are always so kind and supportive and we feel truly blessed to have them caring for them. Many thanks to the excellent team at St Johns!

  7. Review titled Impossible to arrange see a doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been with this practice since 1984. I have been pleased with the service over the years. The response to the Covid vaccination programme was stellar. However since then the service they provide has dropped through the floor. The AskmyGP is always switched off. Telephone is switched off most of the day. If it does ring you are number "32 in the queue". I have taken to writing letters the old fashioned way to get an appointment but this is hardly efficient. They seem to have enough Drs judging by the list of Drs available at the practice and on going into the practice there are plenty of other staff milling around in the offices. So what is the problem? The usual Covid excuse is wearing a bit thin now.

  8. Review titled Great doctors but very poor access to be seen

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Cedar - Posted on 04 October 2022

When I have been able to access the service, the service was good. What makes me seriously thinking of finding a new GP is the utter impossibility of even get a doctor to answer queries via email. How can a practice work on the assumption that access for 4 to 15 minutes a day from 8 am are acceptable? This is shocking and unsustainable. Don't go there! I haven't seen my own GP for years. That would not bother me too much if I could see or even speak to someone else. But even that is a logistical nightmare. I will look for better access to healthcare if possible.

  9. Review titled Shocking Service

Impossible to get through to make any appointments. I have tried for 2 weeks straight to get through to someone to book an appointment, with no luck. Constantly number 40+ in the queue, even if there are less than 10 people in the queue, you never get through. Askmygp is constantly turned off so no hope of getting through to someone this way either. This surgery has really gone down hill since moving into the new building
