    after an appt with a doctor i was advised by the doctor to make an appointment to have bloods taken - due to my mobility I asked for a home visit which I have in the past the rude receptionist then said as I was in the surgery I am not classed as "housebound" her words not mine - she was not aware of my circumstances but just judged me ! she continued arguing and I suggested she read the notice asking patients not to be rude to staff as she was being very rude to me and it was not the first time this receptionist has been very rude all the people in the surgery could her and I felt very intimidated. afterwards she said in a very condescending manner "bye have a nice day"and walked away,in respect of the other recepionists I have never experienced any rudeness or condescending behaviour over the 24 years I have been registered with medlock vale. I do hope that a resolution will be reached .

  2. Review titled Poor service from the admin side

    I send my email prescriptions in at the beginning of each month and by the end of the month I have to chase them up each time. You also struggle to get an appointment, wait endlessly over an hour to be cut off, the office/admin side is very poor. When you do get to see a doctor they are brilliant! It is such a shame this side of the surgery lets itself down. Need more staffing.

    Today I called concerning a txt i had recd from the practice with a link attached which did not work, a very helpful member of the reception staff took this issue away and called me back with how to access the service i required via a different route, i feel this was above and beyond the service required and am very grateful for the kindness and care shown whilst i am having a difficult time, thank you

    They never answer the phone I have waited over an hour for an answer and then the call cuts out. When I did get through I was told there not appointments I explained I needed an appointment for a prescription and was told to ring at 8am the next day as the appointment we’re available to book till the next day. This isn’t possible for me and when I told her this I was then told well ring at 12 pm on Thursday I work full time for an emergency service therefore it is not possible for me to ring a certain times of the day. I will now run out of my prescription and not be able to order any inhalers until this is sorted.

    On the phone over 1 hour and was only 5th in the queue It’s 1pm in the afternoon, clearly this surgery needs more staff

    I have rang this practice daily for a good few days I can get through at 8 am but 22 in a queue everytime I ring , is the phone set at 22 I was left ringing for 1 hour 2 minutes and then it hung up on me . My husband rang he’s on pay as you go he was 16 in a queue same happened to him cost him £7:50 they need some sort of system that tells you as soon as appointments are taken there’s no more for that day instead of you hanging on till your 1 in the queue to be hung up on or told no more appointments left it’s a disgrace pay your national insurance for 40 years and can’t get to see a Doctor shouldn’t be in this job if they can’t even be bothered to speak to you

    The reception staff seem to be trained to be as awkward and condescending as possible. They certainly don't care about their patients and trying to get them to book a GP appointment seems an impossible task.

    My partner is 85 and has trying to SEE or speak to a doctor for weeks he has been to the surgery at 7.45 in the morning with no success, he has rung at 2mins to 8am only to be told he is no.20 in the que, he waited 1and half hours only to be told no appointments left and to call again tomorrow, his daughter came from 30miles away and took him to A/E at 8pm in the morning, this is absoulutly shocking.

    Just another complaint about the telephone service at this practice. I appreciate there are demands on the service, so if there are get more staff to at least answer the phones. Today 28 April rang in response to a letter from said practice to make a "routine" phone appointment with one of the GPs. Started the call at 13.27, position 9 in the queue, not too bad seeing it's been double figures in the past, at 15.13 finally get answered, 106 minutes later. That's just under 12 minutes a waiting place on the list. My call lasted 3 minutes, maybe I was fortunate it was only to make a "routine" appointment and I sympathise with those whose calls take longer, but 106 minutes, hopefully not at a premium rate is a bit much. Will anyone in the practice take note of just another brassed off customer/client/patient and review the complaints on here, unlikely.

    Tried phoning for a telephone consultation. After many attempts I got through. The receptionist was very nice and understanding. Got me a phone call with the doctor Same morning. Only downfall is the amount of times you have to try to get through.
