  1. Review titled good practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I find this practice pretty good, however like most G.P. practices its not without challenges and operational difficulties. it can be difficult to obtain face to face consultation with a doctor but telephone appointments are available. it is indeed somewhat of a lottery trying to get an appointment when the procedure is to ring at 8am to obtain same day appointment, I often find that I am not able to get through to book an appointment as other are also calling the practice. The booking system can sometimes be a source of frustration. I find the staff very helpful and wanting to do the best for patient, they're engaging and attentive with a sense of building a rapport with patients especially the longstanding patients like myself. the reception staffs are always happy to clarify (to the best of their knowledge) pertaining to your appointment and will endeavour to assist. the medical team are sensitive to my needs and offer relevant information and treatment plans to maximise my physical and emotional state of being. historically I used to consult with my assigned doctor which I believe paved the way to build a good relationship between patient and doctor, unfortunately over many years now I've been assigned different practitioners some of which I didn't get to meet before they left the practice whilst others only knew me via my medical history and notes. Whilst this is not a major criticism of the practice, I understand the struggles with staff recruitment and retention, it is on the other hand a suggestion in relation to improvements. I would also wish to add that for the number of patients registered with this practice, the car park space its inadequate to meet patients needs. As I previously stated I find the practice good and competent in exercising their duties. I am content with the service I've being receiving to date.

  2. Review titled Very Poor practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had a phone consultation on 24th July 2023 from 8.30am onwards nobody called, later on throughout the day I received a text message from the surgery telling me I have an appointment the following day in the morning. I went along 25th July I was 5 minutes early and sat down. A patient came in with a lame excuse saying why they were late. The patient seemed very familiar with the receptionist having a laugh and joke with each other, the receptionist said not sure if she will see you (the doctor). Anyway the late patient sat down. 15mins later I was still waiting and the late patient was called in, I don’t mind waiting for a few minutes over my time if a patient is in with the same doctor I’m seeing, but to find out that the late patient has been called in before me with the same doctor… When I was early for my appointment I thought it was absolutely disgusting, out of order and so unprofessional and unfair. I was waiting for at least 45 minutes and I wasn’t the only patient that noticed this situation. To my knowledge if you’re late for an appointment you have to wait until all other patients that have already arrived for their appointments to be seen or you have to make another appointment. Just because receptionist have friends that are patients doesn’t mean you can take advantage. That late patient should not have had priority over early patients waiting for their appointments. The receptionist should take into consideration of the patient’s medical conditions as we’re sitting anxiously awaiting to see the doctor.

  3. Review titled Don’t see you at the time of your appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Booked a telephone appointment for 9:50 because my daughter was too sick to go into the surgery. Been waiting for 45 mins and still not telephone call from GP. Called the GP surgery to ask why there’s a delay and was told that they normally say between 9:30 and 11am. Informed the receptionist that I booked an appointment for a certain time and not a time frame. Absolute joke.

I am sorry you were not been happy with the service offered by the surgery . When booking appointments if they are telephone appointments we can only offer a window of time, for example in the mornings it will be anytime from 7.30am to 11.30am and the afternoon would be anytime between 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Unfortunately, we do not know how complex these calls will be and endeavour to afford every patient the opportunity to discuss their issues. Ann McDermott Reception Manager

  4. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Fairleigh House - Posted on 15 December 2022

Everyone at the practice including receptionists, manager and doctors are extremely helpful, approachable and supportive in providing excellent medical care to their patients. I can not remember over the years there has been a time when they have not been able to provide medical care or advice for our residents. As a manager I can not praise the Range Medical Centre enough

  5. Review titled Terrible and Incompetant

Rated 1 star out of 5

by JCN - Posted on 09 August 2022

You can't book an appointment in advance so you have to ring at 8am. You wait for 45 minutes minimum on hold to get through, and then reception hang up, leave you on hold, are rude, or tell you there are no appointments left because you've lost out through no fault of your own because you've waited in a queue for over an hour. Today I've been in the call queue for an hour and 15 minutes, the automated message says I'm first in the queue and have been for 15 minutes. Nobody is going to answer. Yesterday was the same, and it has been like this for months, every time I call it is usually impossible to get through. And the one time I did get to speak to a doctor over the phone, they spoke to me and then told me to hang up and call back to get an appointment, they wouldn't book it themselves. Which of course meant going back in a 45 minute queue, whereupon I got hung up on again. Lucky for me, I'm only in chronic pain, imagine if it was an emergency...

  6. Review titled Nightmare of incompetency in the reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 June 2022

The incompetence in the reception is breathtaking. Repeat prescriptions are challenged and hindered every time even after years of same medication. Blame it on everyone but themselves. Appointments are by an 8am phone lottery for same day only. Cannot plan a forward appointment so if you do not get through before appointments taken for the day by 8.30 to 9am you do not see a doctor. And if you do by any chance it is usually a junior. Looking to change ASAP. Would give it a negative star if possible.
