  1. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Jay - Posted on 03 April 2024

Elderly patient called to ask about medication and was subjected to an overly officious , rude and hostile receptionist who quite frankly should not be permitted to be employed in a patient focused role. Shame on you

Dear Patient, thank you for taking the time to feedback. We are surprised and saddened by your comments regarding one of our reception team. This is most unusual, as we regularly receive very positive comments regarding how helpful, courteous and amazing our reception team are. To this end, we would be most grateful if you could contact our Practice Business Manager, Vera Bourn, on 01204 463777 to discuss this matter in order to obtain further information.

I was very impressed with the care & attention of the doctor & ecg nurses. Everything was clearly explained. The GP was most thorough with all the investigations & had a reassuring, pleasant manner- a very good communicator. Thank you to all the staff involved in my treatment.

  3. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

In the first week of January 2023 both myself and my husband had to visit the practice for various reasons having not had to visit for a number of years. We had face to face appointments and also used the online consultation form. Both of these methods were very efficient and all the medical, nursing and admin staff were very friendly and helpful. Very happy with the Dunstan Practice.

  4. Review titled Poor.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Receptionists - rude. Do not listen. Cannot understand simple requests. Doctors - young, inexperienced, overworked, but polite. That said I’ve been misdiagnosed twice in the last two illnesses. I was once diagnosed via telephone on a rash I had on my skin only for the medication to spread that rash all across my face. You can get an appointment same day but only if you’re unemployed or work very close to the surgery. 11.15am? No worries. 5pm? Not a chance. Doctors often are overrunning by as much as an hour. Generally poor. As I’m currently undergoing treatment I’m stuck with them until I’m better. As soon as I’m better, I’m off.

We're sorry that your experience of trying to make an appointment to speak with a Doctor was a difficult one. You state that you start work at 4.30 am, so it would not be possible for you to contact the practice when we first open in the morning. We do, however, now have an extended hours service, which operates at Tonge Fold Health Centre, and is open from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm Monday to Friday and from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on a Saturday, which you may find useful, due to the hours that you work. In order to book one of these appointments, you need to contact The Dunstan Partnership and request one of these appointments. We have tried very hard to make our appointment system as flexible as possible to suit most of the needs of the majority of our patient population. I hope the above information helps you to get an appointment more easily in future. Mrs Vera Bourn Practice Business Manager

Thank you for your feedback. We are unsure what has happened in this instance, as our online consultation service does not require a password. We would like to investigate further and would be grateful if you could contact the practice and ask to speak to one of our Admin Co-Ordinators, who would be more than happy to go through the process with you.
