Waited in call queue 45mins re an acute medical issue related to very painful shingles. Eventually answered and told to either go to walk-in centre or call back next day. Decided must try to treat problem myself with alternative therapy. Its better than medical for disease prevention but forced into using it for acute treatment due to reluctance of nhs surgery to treat me, a very common occurrence nowadays.

I had high hopes for this practice. I felt the GP listened to me - a rare thing indeed as they are usually dismissive and completely lacking in compassionate and communication skills. However, having to (politely) argue for a face to face appointment because I had no phone at the time, and use hearing aids, was depressing. And now the wait time for a "routine" application is 5 weeks. I have been suffering with an as yet undiagnosed illness which has worsened over the past 2 years to the point now where I can no longer just grin and bear it and get on with it as I have been doing. I feel let down and hopeless that I'll ever feel better as the turnaround for being seen is so long.

I moved to the area from France last year and have had some significant health problems. The care I have received from everyone at this practice (reception staff, nursing staff, healthcare assistants, pharmacy staff and of course the GPs themselves) has been wonderful. How lucky we are to have such a dedicated, responsive, professional medical team. The French health system has a reputation for being one of the best in the world and I was a little unsure how medical care in the UK would compare to this. How wrong I was. I could not have received better care anywhere than I have at the Over Wyre Medical Centre.

I had rang owmc25/3/22. Request a Telephone Appointment with a female Doctor. I was given 28/4/22. When asked what the reason was? I told the receptionist it was because I had found a lump on my breast. I eventually saw a female Doctor 6/5/22. I was fastracked to Breast Care Clinic at local Hospital. I was seen 6 days later. Should my appointment taken this long to speak to a female Doctor?. Unacceptable.
