My elderly parents with significant health issues have to jump through hoops to get an appointment. They don’t answer the phone. They don’t call back when they’ve said they will. I’ve called on my parents behalf and they’ve said they’ll call me back and they don’t. They have an appalling reputation in Penwortham. I am so glad they are not my GP practice and my heart breaks for the terrible care they provide particularly to their elderly patients

Been with this practice since it opened & generally have been very happy with it. We are a family of 5 and we are all registered here. However, recently the service is extremely poor. I think the Dr's are great, if & when you can get to see them. My son is waiting for a follow up asthma review, which should have take place end of December. A month on, 2 empty inhalers, we have been offered an appointment with the nurse in 4 weeks time. This is only the example I have given for our youngest son, not the rest of us. Very poor & extremely dangerous. Unfortunately, we'll be looking at changing surgeries. This is based on friends recommendations and their shock at the service we are receiving.

I submitted a form this morning with my symptoms, I was contacted within the hour and given choice of appointment and times that morning. Got seen on time by Dr and all sorted - fantastic service, pleasant and friendly staff even though seemed very busy and waiting room full. Happy with service received as don’t tend to need that often and often hear bad reports thank you again

I filled in a form for doctors . received phone call to come in .I had been in hospital last year and getting concerned chesty cough not clearing iup.Saw doctor within 2 hours of ringing and had medicines delivered.What a excellent doctor's.I was fully checked.over.really pleased

My wife was told by the practiceto attend the hospital for a blood test asap but at no point was told to take a form which we found out when we arrived at the hospital after waiting patiently in the cue ,spoke to the supervisor at the practice to be given what sounded like a insincere sorry so that was a day off work and a 6.50 parking charge all to be repeated again tomorrow ,frustrated

I rarely need to attend my GP and had been a bit anxious about ease of access should I need help. When I was unwell I completed an on line triage form. Was given an appointment the same morning. Collected and started the prescription by 11 am that day. completely recovered 3 days later. Thank you. It is a great relief to know I am supported by such an effective practice. Everybody I have met is so kind and helpful.

I am very pleased with the service I have experienced over the past couple of weeks from St Fillans. I haven’t been to the doctors for years so was quite apprehensive. Every single person I have had contact with have been so kind, helpful and efficient. The service I have received has been amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending St Fillans surgery to anybody

I’ve been with this practice for years, however in the last few years I never get see or speak to the same doctor. When you do get to see them they know nothing about your past history. There is a complete lack of communication throughout the practice, and what there is it’s all done through a messaging system. This, combined with arbitrary processes that distress their patients by forcing them to do everything online, making things very inaccessible for elderly or physically unwell patients. They seem to enjoy making you jump through hoops for a simple prescription or appointment. Then when you put in an online request it takes them ages to get back to you. Reception staff are hit and miss - some really lovely, some very abrupt. Seems as if patient care and empathy aren’t really on the agenda here anymore. If you have any health conditions (which let’s face it, many people do when they visit the doctor) you’re probably better off finding an alternative practice - I will be doing!

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. It would be helpful if you could contact the Practice Manager at gpccg.stfillans@nhs.net to discuss, as we are unable to investigate or respond to anonymous complaints. We moved to a total online triage system back in November 2020 as a pro-active approach to managing demand. Patients submit a triage form which is reviewed by a GP, who can then assess the most appropriate action for that patient. Under this system we are able to respond to the majority of requests with 3 working days (under the old traditional appointment system there was a 3-4 week wait for a GP appointment). Patients who are unable to complete a form online can call reception who will complete the form for them. If you wish to request a specific GP then please state this on the triage form and we will do our best to accommodate (please note that you may have to wait longer, and this may not always be possible due to absence, sickness etc). All clinicians have access to your medical records. Based on patient feedback and surveys, the majority of our patients prefer this system as they are dealt with much quicker. After all bad reviews of GP practices generally, I was expecting a long delay for appointments. However, after leaving two requests via the internet on St Fillans website on Monday, I received a GP appointment and a physio appointment for Thursday. I was amazed at the efficiency of the service! Well done St Fillans!

I submitted an online triage form at 08:30 and received a call back at 09:30 inviting me to an appointment at 11:40 with a specialist practitioner. Completely exceeded my expectations. Well done.
