  1. Review titled Appalling service and after care

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended an appointment on a Saturday for gynaecology check. The Dr in question gave me a prescription but did not verify the address meaning I had to pay full price for something that would have been cheaper on prescription I was then told I would be contacted in 4 weeks for my results. It’s now almost May and nobody has contacted me! I have rung the hospital several times left messages and nobody has contacted me. I spoke to one lady in reception at the gynaecologist department and she took my details to message me with an update - nothing! No reply, no update! I then contacted outpatients to find out what was going on and the receptionist was incredibly rude, very unprofessional and refused to give me the number for a colposcopy referral. Absolutely disgusting service! Zero professionalism and I still have no results! You need to investigate this hospital! It’s practice and train up the reception staff.

I had a colposcopy at Leatherhead Hospital and Clinic today. The staff there were amazing, I felt very well looked after and heard. They made a scary experience so much easier with their empathy and kindness. Thank you.

  3. Review titled Empathy

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a numerous conversations over the phone with a lady who showed no empathy and people skills. It was very robotic, no emotion and understanding of whet other person was going through. Also no willingness to go extra mile to support me. It was very sad and to be treated this way, especially as all NHS slogans now show how supportive they are and how others mental health matter!

I have been having physiotherapy at Leatherhead for the past few weeks and it has been great; the service, the professionalism, the friendliness, not to mention free parking! I have attended Leatherhead hospital for other things in the past and will always asked to be referred there whenever possible. Keep up the great work...NHS at it's best! :)

  5. Review titled Poor Management

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2023

Before I say anything else, I am a very recently retired registered nurse and I held senior positions during my career where good management was key. Communication is vital to good management and I found this lacking when I attended for my appointment with the podiatrist. She is not at fault. She was professional and knowledgeable and I had a very satisfactory appointment with her. That needs to be underscored. What went wrong was that the receptionist on the front desk was unsure of where my appointment was being held and I was told to sit outside the physio gym and wait until someone came to fetch me. No one came and time was running out so I sought help from the physio inside the gym. I learned that there are two computer systems for the clinics which causes some confusion. Finding out where I should have gone was not easy and frankly, totally chaotic. It involved a lot of searching and phoning but the physio was patient and determined. In the end the long search caused me to be late. I had to walk to another building where the podiatrist had almost given up on me. No one seemed to know where this clinic was held. It took 40 minutes from my time of arrival until I eventually was seen. This is not a good experience for patients and most frustrating for health professionals. I know very well what it is like to have a list and how a late patient can disrupt it. Where is your management here? Things ought not to be so haphazard. It highly unprofessional and has left me with a very poor impression of the management of your hospital. I would like to emphasise that this is not a criticism of the clinical staff. They were entirely helpful and efficient. I have a follow up appointment and have opted to go to Dorking where I know things are run much better.

  7. Review titled Very good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended for steroid injection in painful shoulder. The practitioner explained everything clearly and I had every confidence in him performing the procedure. I have had physio previously and was advised the best way to proceed after the injection. As a disabled carer for my husband with Parkinson’s my mobility is very important and I felt that this was understood and my future treatment took this into consideration. Leatherhead Hospital is convenient to get to and an important asset to the community. I was seen on time, treated and able to drive home safely. Thank you NHS!
