After less than 24 hours finding out that I was further along than I thought and therefore needed a surgical abortion I was feeling really distressed and overwhelmed about the procedure. My appointment was at 8:15am and we travelled nearly 2 hours so it was a tough morning. I experienced abuse as a child and so the thought of this procedures and being asleep was very scary. But everyone was so nice, explained everything so well and clearly without being patronising and I felt totally cared for and like I could ask anything. All the women clearly really cared and wanted to make sure I was OK and the two male doctors who did the procedure introduced themselves and gave me a fist bump. I am really happy I had this team helping me. Its a really hard thing to go through but they made it a little easier.
