    I have had both cataracts removed in the past two months. Both care and treatment were exemplary. My wife and I thank you for your care and consideration.

    Consultation appointment received very quickly - very thorough. I was given a date for the operation quickly too. I had to contact the hospital 3 times pre op and found it easy to get through and speak to someone knowledgeable. The day of the op went well - the staff were friendly and efficient and the surgeon came to introduce himself. The op went well!! I was an NHS patient!

    Brace yourself, they treat NHS patients like second class citizens, the Titanic. The pre checks are good, surgery day and front line staff poor. Cataract machine broke down on me on the day of surgery. I was under it face covered and scared until they organised themselves. Pre op and post no blood sugar or blood pressure check like the NHS. The cuff on blood pressure machine did not work. So they told me go… and I’m diabetic. No tea or sandwich offered. The coffee tea machine in reception is out of order months now. Optegra, you are not that efficient, that’s why you do NHS work. Treat everyone the same. You need to review your Colindale practice. My father had the same procedure on the NHS. He was treated so well, not allowed to leave until he had been checked and given tea and a sandwich as a diabetic. You discharged me straight away after not checking me over. Poor poor poor!

    Very helpful and friendly staff who put me at ease . Operation was v quick with great surgery team lead by a top surgeon who really knows his business. No issues of any kind and the staff booked a cab so I got home safely. Very grateful to them all

    I am due to have surgery tomorrow which I am seriously considering cancelling. This is after my experience this last month - and reading reviews. It is impossible to get through to this Optega site. At all. When I call I am on hold for an hour - then switched to a message box from which they never reply. This happened 6 times on 3 separate days. They have failed to reply to any e mails. I was referred there by Specsavers. Out of desperation I asked them to intervene. They assured me someone would call. The lady who did call couldn't help. She didn't have all the details. She got stroppy when I questioned the phone waiting time and total lack of reply from Optegra. She said short staffed. Hardly a good reason when they are dealing with people calling about health issues. They have failed to reimburse charges for a cab - which is a whole sorry tale in itself. I wanted them to have my consent form ready tomorrow before I go ahead. I want to read it before I continue. As I couldn't get through it isnt my fault if it isn't available. I tried to give them fair warning. I expect there to be an issue about that. There is a whole lot more I won't go into here. I'm not normally the type to leave a bad review. Sadly, because I have no way of contact through the channels they've provided I have no choice. To summarise I am astounded that its impossible to speak to anyone at that site about treatment. I'm amazed they haven't replied to one single e mail. It appears to be a site in total chaos and mired in unprofessionalism. How can I possibly now have faith in them to conduct a procedure and provide adequate after care when the pre-care is none existent ? There are clearly serious issues here that a senior NHS official needs to look into. Very very disappointed.
