I had a cataract operation only 2 days ago and the result is amazing, i just cannot find the words to say how grateful i am for your care and all the kind and friendly staff everywhere who make you feel so relaxed. 2. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had laser treatment on both eyes at the Colindale clinic. All the staff were friendly and courteous. My treatment was completed within 1 hour and I was immediately free to go home with no after effects.I could not praise the clinical staff more highly for their professionalism. I now have perfect vision. My only criticism is that because of NHS policy they could only treat one eye at a time so I had to make two visits. Overall I am very pleased with the service I received.

I had a cataract operation today and was very impressed by all the staff and the treatment I received. I will be having the cataract on my other eye removed and will have no nerves at all.

  4. Review titled The whole experience was far better than I had anticipated.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From reception staff, to nurses, Clinicians, and Surgeons, their kindness and understanding was brilliant, and the painless procedure and outcome far better than I had anticipated. Thank you everyone at Guildford. I wish I had had the procedure many years ago now. However, my only hiccup is that patients do have to wait much longer than the given time for their appointments which is probably due to the popularity of the Guildford practice.

  5. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had my first cataract surgery in September this year, at the practice in Whiteley Hampshire. I was very nervous as you have to be awake and it worried me. I need not have been worried at all, the team are amazing and throughout the whole process put me at my ease. I highly recommend Optegra.

  7. Review titled Terrible experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lynn Smith - Posted on 24 January 2024

I had my first cataract done at Optegra Manchester in July 23. At around mid August I developed anesometropia, a condition that causes sight distortion, photophobia and double vision. This sometimes happens when one eye has surgery. The remedy for me was to have the 2nd eye done(also scheduled because I needed that eye's cataract removed too. This was not Sheduled until 22 Sept, despite my going back to the hospital three times seeking help. I was left to endure terrible discomfort and fear. The staff showed no compassion for my suffering or sense of urgency. I was later told that. Optegra worked within their time frame ie 6 weeks. They did send me flowers and a miniature box of chocolates though! Optegra are only 'great' if your op does not have complications.

  8. Review titled Bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My opticians referred me to Birmingham as long waiting list at local hospital. My first appointment for tests was cancelled then rebooked for 2 weeks later. Planned surgery on 7th July cancelled rebooked for 30th August 23 got email saying this appointment was also cancelled. I've booked annual leave for this which was a waste of time due to you cancelling my appointments. I'm still waiting for an appointment for surgery

  9. Review titled Worst paid service I have ever received!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 May 2023

Tl:dr - Avoid Optegra at all costs unless you want to have the worst service, where they take your money and treat you as an afterthought. Dont listen to people who recommend Optegra. I was recommended this place by a few optometrists. I should have gone Optical Express. Everything was initially great. The optometrist was good, staff were good. As soon as I booked the surgery thats when things went down hill. I never received any booklets, pamphlets or any information. They said there was 'an error in the new system they recently moved to which may have caused me to not receive anything. However, the emails for me to pay somehow went through?!! Fine, I can deal with that, I did my own research beforehand. And a lot of people seemed to recommend optegra so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Surgery day came, and I was told the surgery would be at this set time through a phone call and text confirmation. I turn up, and have to wait over 3 hours past my surgery time for the surgery. The worst this is they could not even give me a specific time for when my surgery would happen. They did not even say anything to me until i complained. Typical apologies and excuses were thrown at me, and they still could not give me an estimate for how long I would have to wait. There was another person who also waited three hours, and arrived half an before me. We were both sorely dissapointed that we were recommended this place and paid for this abysmal service. The surgery itself was great. Surgeon and his team were friendly and helpful and the only saving grace. I was told that there would be a follow up the next day, standard procedure. I went to the front desk and had to ask for one because of course the coordination there is so terrible they could not get one for me beforehand. Well lo and behold, they have nothing available. The lady at the desk tells me she will send me a text for when I can have an appointment later on, since they have this 'email issue' with me. I heard nothing back from them a day later and had to call back myself to try to get something. I have had no follow up yet, all seems okay so far, but this behaviour is honestly disgusting. Imagine if you had the surgery and did not feel fine the next day. You would be worried sick, and would not be able to get a follow up. Honestly this is the worst service I have ever received in my life, and I paid nearly £4000 for this. If you are currently researching into laser eye surgery, skip Optegra please. Do yourself a favour and don't go through this horrible ordeal I had to pay for. If I could give 0 stars I would. Never been this dissapointed by a paid service before.

  10. Review titled Neglected NHS patient

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mr Olegs Kokojevs - Posted on 09 October 2023

My mum was referred to Optegra Brighton in May 2023. I called them in June as there was zero communication, they stated that she will be invited in August. It is October - still zero communication. My mum ended up going private and got her procedure done in Spain as she lost hope that Optegra will ever contact her and she was struggling living with no vision in one eye.
