From the initial telephone contact to face to face appointment I cannot fault this service. Staff were friendly, non judgemental and most importantly caring throughout. I required telephone support in between my telephone consultation and face to face which was also fantastic and very supportive. The receptionist was friendly and warm and the midwife who provided the consultation was caring and informative, I felt at ease throughout such an upsetting consultation. I would highly recommend this service. I was shocked to read the poor reviews hence felt compelled to leave my honest review of my recent experience at the Burton clinic.

  2. Review titled Awful service

I scheduled an appointment for Thursday, the Wednesday prior. Thursday morning came and they cancelled and allocated me an appointment at for Friday at a random time. I wasn’t available as it was during my working hours, I called the morning of and tried yo reschedule. No one picked up. I then had an appointment for Sunday, no one rang.. apparently it got cancelled. He rescheduled for Monday 17:20, no one rang until 18:10 when I lost reception on my phone. I called back immediately, it took 20 mins for my phone call to be answered. They told me I had to reschedule, again as the nurse has gone home. Out of sheer frustration I burst out crying, I slowly am approaching 10 weeks. All I wanted was help, quickly.

  3. Review titled Horrible Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was made to feel guilty for what I was doing. They ignored how many weeks I was telling them and kept insisting I would need surgery. After my scan they realised I would not need surgery. The appointment was very rushed and they did not explain the symptoms very well and just told me to read the online leaflet. I was made to feel like I was making the wrong decision multiple times and I felt very judged. I was also told multiple times how much it would hurt, it felt as though they were trying to scare me so I wouldn’t make this “mistake” again. I would not recommend nupas to anyone.

  4. Review titled Horrible experience

Lengthy consultation, not many clinics and don’t explain properly that if you need a scan there is no point doing one at 5 weeks because they’ll just tell you that you need to wait another 10 days for the pregnancy to develop - like the decision to abort isn’t hard enough. Also sonographer unnecessarily left probe inside when examination was finished and I had to tell her to take it out. I was highly distressed through the whole appointment as they saw me 20 mins late. Awful, awful experience.

  5. Review titled Amazing from start to finish

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited Nupas Manchester after contacting other clinics to find their waiting time was over 3 weeks- Nupas offered me a telephone consultation just 4 days after I initially phoned, and then an in-person visit 2 days after that. The telephone consultation went extremely smoothly and I was offered forms of contraception- which I ended up opting for. I was running late on the day of the appointment however they were extremely understanding. I went for the medical abortion method, and they gave me a full information pack with pain relief (this I didn’t need to ask for) and the pills to take at home. We moved onto my contraception, I chose to have the implant. The process was painless and the midwife was so encouraging and supportive. I rang again a day after my second pills about a small issue I had and they were incredibly helpful on the aftercare line. I would recommend Nupas to anyone, they’re amazing at what they do and the treatments they offer are done with great care and support at all times.
