  1. Review titled Caring team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Me and my family have been registered with this surgery for 2 years now have been seen on a handful of occasions and always been treated with professionalism and care by clinical and admin team. My latest visit was for my toddler who had been poorly for over 2 weeks with a cough. We have all been unwell with this, but although I hadn’t booked in for myself the GP asked if he could listen to my chest too and issued me with antibiotics also. I never asked the GP, but his caring nature went the extra step in what short time they have per consultation to help me also. I’m very grateful for this especially understanding how stretched primary care is currently. Thankyou.

  2. Review titled Diabolical overall

I have recently ring for meds but was told that I needed to see a doctor first but they didn't have any appts left for that day but to book online and I would get a call back that day..I got a text telling me to ring reception to book an appt! In desperation I rang 111 who talked me through symptoms and agreed that I would need meds so they arranged with the doctor to ring me back that day which happened (why couldn't that have happened anyway??) I was subsequently asked to go into the surgery to be examined and I ended up with the meds that I initially had asked for but at what cost?? ...My time filling in the online form, the doctor having to read it and 'get rid' of me by bouncing me back to reception, 111's time taken up and costs involved for me to get an appt that I needed. The reception staff over time have become more obstructive and generally unhelpful, but they do seem to have a high turnover of staff which isn't good. This is not the first time I have been told to fill out the online form, promised to get a phone call back the same day and they getting an email back to tell me to ring in to book an appt, ridiculous. The only good thing about my latest fiasco was that the doctor called me in and I am now getting what appears to be a full mot.

  3. Review titled Super healthcare service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Reception are most helpful and endeavour to assist with all queries whether it be medication or GP consultations or appointments.Doctors feedback is timely and informative. Overall professional feel to the service provision. Having experienced very poor service in the past from another practice it is a pleasure to be registered with Prescot Medical centre who in my opinion are second to none.

  4. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the surgery today for my routine smear test. No woman likes having a smear but they are so important. The female GP I saw was nothing short of amazing, everything from her bedside manner to her knowledge and skill was fantastic. She discussed with me, in view of my age, my peri menopause symptoms, and suggested I might like to think about HRT. This is something I had been thinking about but was reluctant to see my GP about after my friends and work colleagues had shared with me their poor experiences when raising similar issues with their GPs who they said had been dismissive of their problems. I was considering, like they had, making a private appointment with the menopause consultant at the Women's hospital (I’d have had to save up!!). I was absolutely delighted when the GP I saw gave me the information I needed without me even having to ask which enabled me to make an informed decision about my choices. She spent time explaining the pros and cons of HRT using research evidence to support this. I made the decision to start with HRT but thought I’d have had to make a separate appointment to get this treatment. This wasn’t the case at all, she checked my height weight and BP there and then and wrote me a prescription. I will be reviewed in 3 months time too to ensure the dosage is correct. I came away quietly smug at my wonderful experience in comparison to my friends (they are not registered at this surgery) and obviously had to share this with them. I wanted to take the time to thank my GP for my brilliant experience, putting me at ease, encouraging me to open up about my symptoms, providing me with appropriate treatment options and prescribing the required medication. People are quick to criticise GPS and perhaps not so quick to give praise where it’s due. I feel fortunate to be a patient at your practice, thank you!

I attended the surgery on 22nd june after a telephone appointment. I was seen right on time, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, and the doctor was fantastic. She really explained everything to me and took the time to examine me. All in all an excellent experience.
