  1. Review titled Life Endangering

Rated 1 star out of 5

Between the GP and the hospital they lost my wife's results, for four months. The results are potentially serious. My wife wanted access to her medical records and the receptionist said to come on before 6.30pm. She went at 5.05 and it was closed.

  2. Review titled Appointments are nightmares

I have been asked to get an appointment from the gp because they have sent a letter to my gp from the hospital regarding my test results, I always avoid calling cos it’s a horrible experience. You keep doing blood test that no one gets to review results with you and then they call for more blood test. To book this appointment, I started calling beginning this week with an average of over 56-73 dials every morning from 8am only to get through and be told to try again next week Monday which can be understandable bearing the pressure of the NHS but no empathy from the staff regarding this. Online platform is another horror. I have no idea how they system can function like this. Its more than a nightmare.

  3. Review titled Impossible to get a response!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having been left a message to contact the surgery for recent test results, I tried phoning for three days from 8 am for as long as I could before giving up. I walked to the surgery, told receptionist I was waiting for test results, she said “ok, someone will phone you today at some point” No one phoned, so I tried the “e consult” “ Sorry, your surgery is not accepting this option” Found a link to register a complaint, and again, no response. This is over a week now. Why has the system deteriorated so much? This is why A&E is always full, people just can’t get through to their GP.

  4. Review titled Impossible to get in touch to discuss results

Rated 1 star out of 5

Following on from recent tests received a txt from the surgery to book a call with the doctors. Phoned straight away to get told I need to phone first thing in the morning. Tried this for the next 4 days unsuccessfully. Did an econsult instead - auto response said I’d hear back from surgery within a week but the doctor tried calling me a few hours later (without any forewarning) while I was in a work meeting. Left message asking me to call back which I did within 20 mins. Got told they’d msg the doctor. Waited another 5 hrs. My wife tried calling again to see when the doctor would ring - same response. They’d msg the doctor. It’s now a new week, not heard anything so tried phoning and been told that I’ve either got to try ringing on the day again or do an econsult. These options are not helpful when u work full time. Hopefully my tests results haven’t shown anything that’s time sensitive

  5. Review titled Great Practice, Great Service, Great Staff

by Bennett Foster - Posted on 09 December 2022

I was recently made by NHS Knowsley to leave my GP Practice of over 25+ years as I was no longer in their area. I was recommended to come to Aintree Park Practice and from get go it has been a fantastic experience. The Registration process was easily understood and the Receptionist in Orrell Park Office very helpful. I was worried over my re-peat prescription as I have quite a few medical conditions and my medication is necessarily important, however, switching my NHS login details to the Practice again went easily, smoothly, and my first repeat prescription flew through with no issues. I asked to visit with a GP with my wife due to my numerous conditions and was accommodated within a fortnight with that visit with a GP who had clearly read my extensive GP Notes from the old Practice, and he laid to rest any concerns my wife and I had over the change of Practice. It was all in all a lovely experience as I suffer with severe anxiety. Just last week it was clear that I had developed a chest infection which is something I was very prone too some years ago which ended up with being in hospital twice with COPD issues. The Clinicians & old GP came up with a regime wherein if I began to cough up green flehm that I would be given a strong course of antibiotics which for several years kept me stable and out of hospital. Further changes to my daily medications meant it had been almost a decade since my last incident. So when this developed I was worried of my new GP Practice's reaction. I sent an e-consult and was contacted within 24 hours by one of GPs on the phone (as I had requested). We discussed what was going on and my past history, and we agreed the Practice would follow suit and a strong course of antibiotics was prescribed which is ongoing. Again another anxiety laid to rest and as my daughter, sister in law, and next door neighbour are all nurses (palliative care, critical care, and practice nurses) I know how busy the NHS is and GPs in particular. I know most often 'reviews' are made in a negative context so I wanted to put this review out to the public at large as in this old man's opinion Aintree Park Group Practice are professional, helpful, understanding, caring, and efficient. Thank you for the platform so I could write this. Regards, Ben

  6. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

The practice runs on a call on the day for an appointment system. However you have to call on average 200 times to actually get through, to then be told there aren't any appointments left. You're also often told to go and visit the walk in. I called 343 times this morning to be precise for an appointment for my 18 month old to then be told there was nothing left (I got through at 9am) absolutely shocking.

I have been a patient here since I moved to the area 22 years ago. Always received exemplary care from reception team and caring GPs to deal with my complex health needs. Thanks so much!
