  2. Review titled Horrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

This is probably the worst service I've ever dealt with. This place is the epitome of this failing system and its lack of functionality. You call at 8:01 and the automated system already says there are no slots available. If you manage to get through because the receptionist happens to pick up the phone between bites of a cookie and sips of tea, she'll still tell you there are no slots. I was 6th in line. And there are no slots? There must be at least 3 doctors working there, right? 30 minutes per appointment? 1 hour of work for the doctor today? This is an absolute joke.

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with our service. Should you wish to discuss if further please contact the Practice Manager who would be happy to discuss your complaint in detail. However, just to keep you informed we are a small Surgery with 1 GP on a day, not 3 GP's as originally stated in your review. Many Thanks.

  3. Review titled No one answers the phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024

After a telephone call from the doctor regarding my mom, who has dementia, at 10.58am, when unfortunately I was unable to get to the phone before it went to voicemail where the doctor left a message saying that there was a telephone appointment arranged for that afternoon to discuss the results of some tests. He said that he would phone my mom to discuss knowing that she has dementia and would not remember anything about the call. I knew nothing about this so I tried to contact the surgery straight away. No one would answer the phone, I tried for 3 hours on 2 different phones to speak to someone to find out exactly what this appointment was for but no one would answer the phone. I gave up in the end being number 2 in the queue for an hour.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear this. The phone lines can be very busy in the mornings. However, if you are trying to arrange an appointment you could try using our online access (If you are not not registered please pop into the surgery to access this) this maybe easier for you, or you could try calling later in the day during our quieter periods. Should you wish to discus this further please contact the Practice Manager. Thank you

  4. Review titled Unable to get appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Laura Smith - Posted on 24 May 2023

Recurrently unable to get appointment to see the gp. Call at opening time and lines are at capacity. Within 10 minutes, all appointments are gone and you cannot book for non urgent appointments throughout the week. Advertising that they are accepting new patients but cannot meet the needs of the patients they currently have.

Dear Laura, thank you for leaving your feedback and we are sorry that you are struggling to get appointments. Unfortunately this is a National Issue and all GP practices are struggling under the aftermath of the Pandemic. We are currently working at new ways to help patients get an appointment or to be signposted to other services that may be able to help you if no appointments are available. If you wish to discuss this further please make an appointment with the Practice Manager.

I have been with new street surgery for 6 years and never had any issues. The receptionist have always been very helpful and accommodating and so have the GP’s. I feel especially with my children the surgery will always do their best to help so I am overall very happy with the service and have highly recommended new street surgery so thank you to the staff for all your help.
