In common with many patients, I find the telephone conversation with a doctor a poor substitute for a consultation. I feel that both parties are at a disadvantage without the face to face interaction. It is however, enormously reassuring if the doctor listens carefully and responds constructively while being honest about the limitations of the health service in certain areas. This was my recent experience.

Far from satisfactory as have been trying to make an appointment all day and when I finally get through they’ve got nothing available and I need to ring again at half 8 tomorrow! 😒

Have been with this surgery for 30+ years and have left twice in the last 3 months in tears. Went for 12 week immunisations, arrived on time but frustratingly without his red book. Had I have realised this on my arrival, I could have gone home to get it, as the nurse was late to work due to traffic. My baby who is already vulnerable, couldn't have his 12 week vaccinations on our visit and not because I'd forgotten his book (as I was told I could drop this in later) but because the previous nurse didn't record his first vaccines on the system. To say I was livid is an understatement. The next day, my husband receives a call from the nurse who didn't record his jabs. There was no apology, just a subtle enquiry to see if she'd actually recorded it in his red book, no doubt so she could back date it on the system to cover her back. Turns out she had, which I guess was a relief to her, but to have the audacity to say at the end of the call 'don't forget your red book next time' was a step too far.

After months of suffering with an ear infection and several GP visits and consultant appointments the issue i had with my ear infection is now clear thanks to the wonderful team at Hawthorns Surgery and I cannot thank them enough for helping me get back to normal.

We registered with the practice over 50 years ago and have received wonderful care over the years, with our young and growing family, and now as two older citizens. We have been treated with care, compassion and a professional approach by all the staff at the practice. Big thanks to The Hawthorns and the NHS.

Due to current issues people seem to be having with their local GP surgeries I thought I would post a quick review here to say how happy I am with all of my dealings with Hawthorns Surgery .I have always managed to get an appointment within a few days and find the staff very helpful . I realise that the NHS and all GPs are currently working under great strain so thank you to all for your care

I have been a patient for 30years & have always found everyone very helpful & understanding. I appreciate given these difficult times I may have to wait in a queue before my call is answered but I am always treated with kindness & compass. Thank you to all the staff & keep up the good work.
