  1. Review titled Customer care above and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Today I arrived after the surgery was closed having got caught in traffic leaving work and the surgery having 1/2 day closing. A member of staff helped me get a repeat prescription form and let me post it. I would have run out of medication without this ladies help. A credit to the NHS going above and beyond. Thank you

  3. Review titled Excellent service once again

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Bishop - Posted on 27 November 2023

As a family we have used High Street Surgery for over 30 years. We have always been looked after very well, and my treatment for a specific problem over the last month has been excellent. A lot of criticism is demonstrated on social media and main stream media channels about GP Services, and I feel we are so lucky to have an exceptional one like High Street as our surgery.

  4. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have tried to book an appointment with this surgery about a month ago and they said they had no room so to call back the next day, I explained to them I have work because I have a high class job where I need to be in work for 5 -7 days in a week. They told me to get a day of work so I eventually did and once I called up for the appointment they said there was no room left and bear in mind this was early in the morning. So after being on the phone for 2 hours stating that I need an appointment for something serious they booked an appointment for in 3 weeks time. Then when it came to the appointment they helped solve barely anything of what’s going on. I now have to wait for another month for blood tests. I don’t recommend this surgery at all and will be leaving it as fast as possible.

  5. Review titled Outstanding practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Genuinely can not fault this surgery. Phoned up for two appointments for my family this week. Got offered a routine appointment for my son for two days time which was all I needed. Phoned this morning for my partner and the receptionist I spoke to was amazing. Went above and beyond to get an appointment for him that suited his work schedule. She called straight back when she said she would. Genuinely in awe of this practice. Best practice in the area and best practice I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. The Dr's here are knowledgeable and listen to your concerns and try to actively put your mind at rest, the nurses are all so phenomenal and hcas are so friendly, I genuinely have no bad word to day about this practice

I have to give my pharmacy 7 days to get my prescription on time. But the surgery won't approve it until the day it's due ? Some of the staff are rude cold .I've been accused of shouting by one of the staff . You will be sorry if you choose this poor practice

Hi there. I'm sorry you have had a negative experience at High Street Surgery. The practice allows a week before the due date or the date your medications 'run out' to ensure there is plenty of time for the script to be signed by the GP and sent over to the pharmacy for processing. If you want to discuss a more effective way of ordering your medications, we will be happy to help.

  7. Review titled poor communication

Was supposed to receive a call from a dr at this surgery but never had one so had to call reception to see what was happening and was allocated a call back time . You should not have to remind a surgery to as about this issue when it's pre booked but there again there's no care or compassion for patients today

Thank you for your message regarding your call back. Its a concern that you had to call about the lack of contact from the clinical team. The pre-booked appointments are to ensure that all patients receive contact appropriately so this needs looking into. Please contact us directly to enable us to check this out.

called at 8am when the phone lines opened and was 3 in the queue. i asked to speak to a doctor about my mental health. Got told it wasn’t urgent for today and to call back next week! Not a good service if you are struggling with mental health!!! Why only offer emergency appointments on the day???? Sort it out…

  9. Review titled Excellent prompt care as always

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Can not rate this GP surgery enough. Despite the immense pressure the NHS and GP surgeries are under they always manage to ensure patients have appointments when they are really needed to ensure care and treatment is provided promptly. I’ve experienced this both for my little boy and myself in recent weeks. The reception staff are always so lovey and helpful too when you phone. Thank you high street surgery.

  10. Review titled Great Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Satisfied Patient - Posted on 25 November 2022

I initially attended to see the nurse practitioner when I was unwell, she was lovely and sorted out my problem. While I was there I mentioned something else that was concerning me and she immediately booked me an appointment for later that same day to be seen by a GP. I returned and felt reassured having seen the Doctor. As I was leaving I asked at reception to see if they had received a message from my physio requesting a steroid injection for my shoulder. The GP involved overheard my conversation and came round to book me an appointment two days later. I have just attended the injection clinic and having now read my notes and realising that I've had this problem some years ago in my other shoulder which led to me needing surgery, the GP has done a referral back to my original surgeon for him to look at my shoulder rather than just carry out the injection today. The appointment with the surgeon is in just two weeks time, I can hardly believe how good this has been. I don't visit the surgery often and have put up with the pain for almost a year because I keep hearing people complaining about not being able to see a GP and long hospital waiting times but this has been amazing. I've have had such wonderful service this week from you all. Thank You!
