    I had need to phone the surgery to ask for a prescription of 3 day antibiotics.. I called at 1 minute to 8 told surgery was closed continued to call 37 times before I was put in a que no 13..29 minutes later.. This was constant over 40 mins, cost £21 on mobile and 45 minutes loss of earnings. The reply was the doctor will phone you back...(which she did). If I was more elderly or less persistent I would have given up. This is not a complaint about receptionist or doctor just the system.. Luckily i havnt had to visit the doctor in 5 years so Im not a drain on the service.. But now I'm reluctant to even try and get a prescription for a reoccurring urine infection and feel il just push health issues to the back of mind as I can't face going through that again, and the prospect of telephone consultations is just appalling.. I'm a great supporter of NHS and feel everyone is doing their best.. But come on We Need to be Able to see our Doctors... And the receptionist situation needs sorting.. Dreadful!! It is very frightening knowing we can't get access to our Doctor if needed, without running the gauntlet of receptionists...
