  1. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Timothy Pannell - Posted on 03 April 2024

Excellent service by the practice and especially my Doctor. Attended appointment with dizzy spells and chest pains. Doctor immediately diagnosed unstable angina and that i immediately had to go to Emergency. I spent 6 days in hospital and was diagnosed with Unstable Angina and Atrial Fibrillation. This was all thanks to the prompt excellent service by the Doctor at this Excellent Surgery. Thankyou very much.

From previous appointments, prescription requests and now post surgery, the admin staff and Dr's response to the online Anima requests have been first class, now very confident and on track for a full recovery, thank you.

  4. Review titled Appointments

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Marion - Posted on 04 July 2023

On 26th June I received text message of reminder for Dr appointment, I hadn’t made appointment but was waiting blood test results so thought it was this. Went for appointment yesterday 03 July to be told it was a computer glitch and there was no appointment! The receptionist was great and told me blood test results, but I had been quite worried about this for the past week.

Dear Marion I am really sorry to hear that you were worried about your appointment message. We have installed a new computer system which enables patients to book directly with us, and this has thrown up a few glitches in the first week. We have now managed to resolve the problem. I am glad that the receptionist was able to reassure you, do please call us if you are ever worried about why an appointment has been made for you. Thank you. Emma Rayment, Practice Manager.

  6. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kevin Bunt - Posted on 27 February 2023

I had an evening consultation, which took place as promised. The resultant treatment process and referral to the out of hours GP service was smooth, and each steps was explained. The Locum, although working remotely, was caring, listened, and efficient. Thank you!

  7. Review titled would not see my son

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jason Grundy - Posted on 12 September 2022

My son has suspected mumps, i called the doctors and they asked me to send pictures of my sons face before and after. They told me that they would see him, then they said that they could not see him, and they would send me a test kit. I never recieved my test kit. So my son is off school but we cannot confirm whats up with him, because they wont see him, so he as not recieved any assesment or diagnosis. This is totally unacceptable and this should not be happening, were we cannot get in for an appointment to see a doctor. Why am i paying taxes for a service that they are unable to supply. Its disgraceful.

  8. Review titled Id love to be taken serioursly

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2022

I've been dealing with some issues recently that I've been told to go see a doctor about as they may be cause for concern. I would love to do that if I could actually see my doctor! 3 days in a row I rang up a few weeks ago to try and book in an appointment and every time was the same short blunt answer of we ran out ring back tomorrow at 8am. Then when I go to do an online consult its been paused within an hour of them opening until the next day! Sometimes its even paused for 2 days which is ridiculous. I am genuinely fed up of this. There's only a rare few times I ended to get a hold of my doctor and the fact that I get made to feel guilty about it is wrong. I am considering moving doctors. its my family doctors I've been going too all my life and its just such a shame I don't feel like ill get help anymore.

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry that you are not happy with the service provided by the surgery. We have had significant problems in the last few weeks with a number of doctors away from work sick. Things have improved as staff have returned to work, and we have also employed some remote locums to help us to offer the online service more consistently. You will be aware of the national issues with recruitment of GPs, and we have not been able to replace staff who have left us recently. We are continuing to do our best, and are here providing appointments every day, so I hope that you will get in touch if you need our services. Emma Rayment, Practice Manager/ Business Partner

I tried to book a doctors appointment for my son, i was told from the receptionist that they only take emergencies, and that i have to call on the day. i explained that I couldn't get through on the phone, she told me to hold the line until they answer. she said that there was no other way to get a doctors appointment, this is unacceptable.

Dear Mr Grundy, I am sorry you have had problems getting an appointment for your son. On days when we have restricted staffing I'm afraid that we have to restrict appointments to urgent issues only. Like most GP services in the UK we are experiencing a period of very high demand, and have also been dealing with significant levels of staff sickness. We usually answer 300-500 phone calls each day, but the whole team is on the phone during periods of high demand, so that we can deal with calls as quickly as possible. We have also just started using a new online consultation tool, "AccuRx Patient Triage" which is switched on every day until the available slots are full. If there is a particular reason why you can't contact us on a weekday morning please call so that we can agree an alternative means of access for you. I am sorry if this was not explained to you when you called. I am sure you are aware of the challenges of recruiting GPs across the whole country - we have been advertising for new GPs for some time but have not been successful so far. We are always looking for new ways to provide the best service we possibly can. I hope that we will be able to help you and your son, please contact me on emmarayment@nhs.net if I can be of further assistance. Emma Rayment - Practice Manager/ Business Partner
