  1. Review titled Great doctors, fast access

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was given rapid access twice this week for urgent care. Both doctors were kind, thorough and professional. I feel safe in their hands.

  2. Review titled Great Practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Always found staff to be very friendly. I use the online service which saves me ringing for blood results etc. Thank you to GP’s & all staff for all your hard work particularly during COViD.

  3. Review titled Poor practice!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned as my family member had collapsed due to light headedness and dizzy spells with fainting(happened more than once ) I was told by the receptionist that no doctor could be seen face to face but a phone call appointment was not available for 4 weeks! If we needed to be seen I was told that if it happened again to call for an ambulance( I’m sure somebody would need them more than my family member Don’t ever get ill as you never get seen at this practice ! Would my family member have to be at deaths door before the actual doctors would see them. Not impressed with the service. I think they need to re-think their booking system.

  4. Review titled Waiting Times

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Mr Pengelly - Posted on 24 May 2023

Waiting times are far toooo looong. Earliest appointment to see your own GP 30 days / 21 weekdays excluding bank holiday Monday. To see any GP, 14 days / 9 weekdays excluding bank holiday Monday (which I could not do as a dentist appointment 15 minutes earlier). Next time available 19 days / 12 weekdays excluding bank holiday Monday. How long as it been this bad, why is it this bad and when will it get better?

  5. Review titled A service that will lead to a tragedy

Rated 1 star out of 5

Our experience recently and over the last few months has been really bad, and indeed it’s what we often hear from others in Kingsbridge these days too. Norton Brook have made it almost impossible to get a face to face appointment, even for children when you are worried. It was understandable during Covid, but now when other surgeries have returned to face to face appointments, Norton Brook seem to have built ever bigger barriers to seeing your doctor. At best this is going to mean many people are taking the wrong medicines first and being ill for longer than needed, at worst this is surely going to lead to serious conditions not being diagnosed early enough and we expect someone will pay for this “more efficient method of working” with their life. When on the phone, if we can’t say if something looks normal on our children, the diagnostic question is brushed away?! That surely can’t be right, why ask it in the first place if it’s not important? It’s something that would be part of the diagnostic process face to face. On the plus side, the doctors there if you can get to see them eventually are really great, just unless you woke up with an extra arm growing out of the top of your head you won’t get an appointment (oh and even with your extra arm the receptionists wont make the appointment and will insist on a phone call with a doctor first, and that you text in a photo of your extra head arm!) Hated writing this review, they are lovely doctors down there, but worse would be to not write it and then read in the Kingsbridge Gazette someone has died because they weren’t diagnosed with something because they couldn’t get an appointment to actually see their doctor. Please bring back the Norton Brook service of 2019, it’s all we ask, they were amazing!

  6. Review titled Rude, unhelpful and unprofessional receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned today to try and get some help for my 83-year-old neighbour who is a lot of pain and finding it difficult to manage but was met with nothing but rudeness and unhelpfulness. Even though I had details which I couldn't have had unless given them by my neighbour, they said in a rude way they would not talk to me. They repeated that three times, even though I repeatedly said I did not want to talk about or discuss the situation in any way, merely ask for the surgery to work something out with my neighbour which clearly they were unwilling to do. A couple of decades ago people got the sack for being as rude as that to people on the phone and putting the phone down claiming they are abusive when it is no one but themselves being rude and abusive. Appalling! I would have hoped this health centre would have improved over the years with all the complaints about them, but clearly they have only become worse than ever.

  7. Review titled Holiday care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was on holiday and developed a UTI. I contacted the practice to find out what to do. I was first advised to contact my own surgery, but they refused to help me. I explained that to your very polite receptionist and was eventually put in touch with a doctor for a telephone consultation. He was kind, efficient, and thorough and checked my records on line. He arranged for a prescription for me to pick up. The treatment worked, and I was able to enjoy the rest of my holiday. Thank you.
