    She was very helpful & took time to explain procedures to me. She told me of alternatives so that I could make an informed choice. It took so long that we didn't have time in that appointment, which I fully understood & she booked me a follow up appointment. I am very grateful to her & now feel that I have all the facts I needed & am happy to proceed next time. I had not met her before but would not hesitate to see her again. Many thanks.

  2. Review titled Unable to easily contact the practice

    Tried ringing to get a message like `'you are caller No.15". `The wait lists are longer than my phone's battery life! I usually give up. No ability to email. Requested medications a week ago....still not at the pharmacy...wasted journey/queuing.

    Went in for a minor surgical procedure and was told it can’t be done as they didn’t have the right “equipment”. As a university student this was a huge inconvenience having paid and travelled all the way back for this appointment, to be told 10 minutes prior it can’t be done. Very poor organisation.

    I want to thank the surgery for such a warm welcome yesterday, I can’t praise the receptionists, nurse practitioner and Doctors enough for their professionalism, care, reassurance and future planning for my conditions. Precious time was given for my complex case for which I am truly grateful and an immediate plan has been put in place providing much long awaited waited and longed for reassurance. I just can’t thank everyone enough. For the first time in a long while I feel listened to, respected and valued as a patient (with physical health needs) rather than being defined by my mental health.

    My husband has been seriously ill over the past months and all at Leatside have been kind, helpful and most of all done their best to get him the help he needs. He may not have survived without their skills. Thank you so much.

    I'm struggling to get any doctors to listen to me and understand that I'm housebound and cant get to the surgery none of the doctors are understanding its a case of if your face fits you will get the help iv Always been treated different to anyone else who have mental health like at the present time I'm having panic attacks in the house which is stopping me do day to day but as usual it's been ignore even though iv sent a e consult

    I had to wait a few weeks for the appointment because my problem was not urgent which was fine, and a blood test was planned while waiting. When I saw the doctor they were extremely thorough, empathic, covered everything. Excellent staff. Great premises, very accessible. Parking and pharmacy on site.

    At my own request, I had a blood test to monitor my cholesterol (part of taking responsibility for my own health, which the surgery encourages). That was on Thursday 20 July at 08.50. The appointment was on time, the nurse was friendly, skilful and quick, and (as advised), I made a follow-up appointment for mid-August for the results, which were going to form part of an NHS check (weight, height, blood pressure, etc.) On Friday 21 July, just over 25 hours later, the surgery rang me. One aspect of the test was showing a borderline result. I was invited to make another appointment for 4 – 6 weeks’ time, just to check. ‘It’s absolutely nothing to worry about,’ she said. I was overwhelmed by the quality of this service: the speed of returning the blood test results (turnaround must have been less than 24 hours), the scrutiny of those results by someone who understood them, the unsolicited phone call so quickly afterwards, the invitation to make another appointment, and the very friendly and reassuring voice. I think I am so, so fortunate to be a patient at this practice. And this was not a one-off, lucky moment: this is my absolutely consistent experience of all the staff and systems at Leatside. Fantastic!

    Out of desperation,my partner contacted the surgery, to get me an appointment to try and discuss my chronic depression and a number of other issues leading from that, which have grown worse in the last couple of years. Apparently i didn't even qualify for a phone call from a doctor? I asked if I should at least email any of the GPS at the surgery the next day for advice, whilst speaking to who phoned me. To be told there's no point. They know what is going on already as a GP already filled them in? ( I'm not going to disclose their job role, as I know they were trying their best with what they were given. But this person as nice as they were, well, they were way out of their depth. With unfortunately meaningless comments that could have come from some cheesy motivational video. ) not sure what to do now. Feel more desperate than I did before.
