    I did at eConsult at 8am this morning, by 10.30 I had been seen by the Nurse Practitioner and a prescription for the appropriate treatment. I have a long term health condition, and the care I receive is exemplary. Many thanks to you all.

    Not been to doctors for 12 to 15 years tried to get to see one all I got was a phone call now can they tell what's wrong on a phone call will go to a and e now. Time to go back to before covid

    Really rude abrupt receptionists. I always am made to feel uncomfortable and stupid by the reception team who seem to know more about my medication than I do myself. doctors are really lovely, just the reception team are a let down. I have been debating swapping and I definitely will be now.

    Prompt response to e-consult with a phone appointment, followed up with a face to face appointment a few weeks later . Felt my concern was taken seriously and reassured if a further appointment was required it wasn’t an issue . GP practices are getting a lot of negative press , this practice has exceeded my expectations . Thank you

    I have nothing but praise for Helston Medical Centre, all the staff right across the board. We have been registered here since October 2022. In that time I have had a number of issues requiring attention, all of which have been dealt with in good time, with politeness and friendliness and understanding. The reception staff have always been friendly and helpful, as have all the medical/clinical staff. Yes, there may be a telephone queue, but that's the same everywhere and I have never found it particularly troublesome, far better here than my previous location to be honest. Receptionists have always been keen to help me get an appointment or whatever, and these were not life-threatening issues. I have had dealings with 5 of the practice doctors so far, 2 of them out of hours, always polite, friendly, understanding and helpful. One particular issue was obtaining help with referral for surgery at my previous location despite having moved. The Helston MC staff made sure that all happened very smoothly - very efficient and cooperative. I find the online consultation system very useful. It's simple to use, you don't have to queue on the phone, and it's dealt with in 48 hours at the very most, often much sooner. It's worked really well for me. I am so pleased to be registered with this great practice.

    The Nurse Practitioner that I saw today was outstanding, not only in the medical care she provided but also in her professionalism and manner. My thorough consultation included the following; - Blood pressure check - Oxygen levels check - Body temperature taken - Checked neck glands - Examined throat - Listened to chest - Gave me a drink of water for coughing fit - Listened to my concerns - Personally took my prescription through to the pharmacy so I could sit in the warm waiting room rather than cue up in the cold - Told me she will ring me in a couple of days to check on my progress. Please pass on my sincerest thanks to this NP and incredible person - her work today really made a difference and was simply above and beyond!

    Someone with chronic depression, reaching out for help from their GP and being told they will have a phone consultation (the phone consultation is not the problem), in 2 weeks! Not even sure I'll be here in 2 weeks! I hope that others in the future who need help get it.

    I rang on 17th Feb 2023 at 14:08 to ask about my blood test results. The receptionist just said they were all okay. When I asked for more detail she was huffy and curt in her manner. She eventually, when I asked for specifics, quickly reeled off the results, when I asked her to explain what the Serum Ferritin stood for she just replied "I don't know, I'm not a doctor" in a really derogatory manner. Why is it the case that when we (your customers) provide blood for said blood tests.... why should we be the ones to call up to chase the results?? The doctor should review blood tests and make a short call to explain the results - unless the customer has agreed that a call is not needed. I feel this is basic care and your receptionist made me feel that I was wasting her time, and would be wasting the doctors time. This is not how we should be treated or made to feel. (Not all your receptionists are rude, so please review calls and train those that are needing customer service training - You would like us to be polite to you, so please be polite to use).

An email contact to provide this information is enquiries.helstonmc@nhs.net For information unfortunately the medical centre is unable to contact every patient with their blood results due to amount of blood tests in any one period.     We moved to Helston at the end of last year and have had nothing but helpful and courteous service from Helston Medical Centre. In our experience they make every effort to call or see you if there is a problem and both the medical staff and receptionists are so friendly and helpful. A vast improvement on our previous practice.

    I went in today to make an appointment for asthma nurse. The receptionist point blankly said I missed an appointment which I didn’t know I had. He said he doesn’t understand why I haven’t had phone service to receive texts when I told them my situation they sighed and huffed, making me very uncomfortable, and persisted to say I missed an appointment, was talking to me in a very harsh tone, I told them I wasn’t currently living at home, and they persisted to say well you missed the Appointment, my mother yesterday had issues with this receptionist and was made to feel very stupid by them, we’re now considering switching practices because this receptionist keeps continuing to treat patients badly, when they’re not trained doctors themselves.
