I've tried to get an appointment to speak to someone about my grandmother who has dementia she signed a form saying I can deal with everything at the gp practice and they still keep saying we need to talk to her and I have to keep reminding them that she won't talk on the phone as she won't know who's calling and that there is a letter saying I can deal with everything for her.

Rude, unsympathetic GP who left me feeling worthless and of no use.Came away feeling worse than when I’d arrived. Had it not been for a kind stranger who found me in tears outside the surgery and took time to comfort me I’m not sure what my next intention would have been

Everything about booking an appointment seems to be designed to make it difficult, particularly if you have an issue that is not an emergency. The online form is unnecessarily complicated. Having to wait around for a call back for several hours can be inconvenient when you also have a job. Trying to explain a problem over the phone can be hard and suggesting that you might find it easier face to face feels like you are making a nuisance of yourself. If we cannot use our GPS to consult about non urgent medical problems and receive advice and help then where can we go? Surely that’s one of the purposes of primary care? My last few interactions with this practice have been uncaring and distant.

I have tried a few times over the last couple of weeks to get an appointment for my daughter as her condition has got worse. Yesterday at 10am there were no more appointments available so this morning I stayed up until Engage Consult opened to get an appointment request. I had a message asking for further info/pictures which I supplied. I then fell asleep (daughter had me up at 2.30am) and slept through the call so had a message saying they would call me back later. I never got that call. When I rung the practice asking what was happened they admitted the Dr had gone home and that they would get another Dr to ring me back. I also never got that call. What do I do now? Try booking again tomorrow only to either miss the call because I'm too tired or simply not get a call at all? Feeling very let down and guilty because I can't get my daughters condition sorted because I fell asleep.

Review titled Not being able to "speak" to the Practise

I need to get advice as I am new to the practise. Every time I call the practise number I get a recorded message saying call back tomorrow and cuts me off. It's very frustrating not even to be able to get the simplest question answered. Where are the humans in this place?

This week I have spoken with the receptionists, seen a HCA and spoken to two doctors. Each of my experiences has been first class. The receptionists have been compassionate and efficient, dealing with my anxiety as well as organising appointments. The HCA was warm, kind and skilled and the doctors were friendly and professional. I feel very lucky to have received such high quality healthcare. Thank you.
