  1. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2024

Really surprised the receptionist continues with the rude behaviour even after so many bad reviews both here and on Google reviews. Unwilling to help or find a solution to help when needing to speak to someone, told to contact the hospital with no further details on who exactly I need to speak to. Really dismissive from the moment I get through.

I am really sorry to hear that you have had this experience. We have all undergone a huge amount of phone training, especially with the new signposting to pharmacies and other allied services. Please can I ask that you make contact with the Practice Manager Diane Parrott as all of our calls are recorded and it would be really valuable to be able to listen and hear what you were advised and how you were advised so that we can all learn from this experience. Thankyou

  2. Review titled Best experience ever

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The most enormous thanks to the amazing staff at Woodlands park surgery. My doctor was phenomenal, so kind, thorough and caring. I felt so ill and she made me feel so much better. I feel absolutely cared for and trust her implicitly. The nurse is always kind too. Hugely grateful!

  3. Review titled Front reception

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Very disappointed by the lack of customer care at front reception. Could I suggest a hello as a start, followed by how can I help you. As the first point of contact in a profession where most patients are nervous a reassuring smile and a positive caring approach should surely be the least to expect. Better training for reception staff is essential at this surgery.

For a patient to make this observation is so disappointing when we try so hard to help our patients. I will be bringing this comment to everyones attention to ensure that our frontline take notice and put back their smile into place. This is not the impression we wish to portray and will certainly take steps to improve it .Thankyou for bringing to my attention .Mrs Diane Parrott Lead Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Disappointing!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Poor experience. No call back after requesting an emergency appointment as I’m pregnant! Then to be told a week and half later that i should have call back if i dont hear from them. How do i know your process if it wasnt explained??? Always being told to contact the midwife even though its clear GP have responsibilities towards me until week 26! Went for whooping cough vaccine, the nurse didnt know that you can now have them from week 16 instead of week 18 even though its on the nhs website “we have not officially been told” she said. They still don’t do face to face appointments. It’s ok until you may need a physical examination then its just their guess work or dr. google. Shocking

Dear Patient Thankyou for taking the time to talk to me this afternoon . I am sorry that you have felt so disappointed and let down in the services you have received and I hope that our conversation today has gone a little way in reassuring you of how we can help you and the different options that are available to you whether you are pregnant or not . Any pregnancy is always quite a worrying time and I would like to apologise that during your first part of pregnancy you have been given the additional stresses that you have described . I will speak to the rest of the team including the GP that you have been involved with and the one that we have arranged a followup with to ensure we help you to the best of our abilities going forward. Please feel free to make contact with me should there be anything else that we can help you with .Yours sincerely Mrs Diane Parrott Lead Practice Manager

  5. Review titled New system doesn’t work; rude receptionist.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Clare P - Posted on 16 May 2022

I understand that caution still needs to be taken with Covid but the new triage system has major flaws. I was told today that I could only discuss one issue at a time with the doctor so would be receiving a call today AND Thursday which seems to be a bigger waste of GP’s valuable time. I missed the call this morning as I wasn’t given any time frame as to when it may be happening. At least when you could book an appointment you didn’t have to explain your symptoms to a receptionist who is rude and dismissive. I will now have to rebook yet another phone call when all I really need is a quick referral for one issue to the nurse and another to be discussed in a little more depth. Disappointing. Time slots for triage should be introduced, in the same way you can arrange face-to-face appointments around a schedule that works.

Dear Patient Thankyou for taking the time to talk to me today and explain your frustrations . I am sorry that you are disappointed with the service you received from us .As advised , our current system is telephone triage is offered together with timed face to face appointments for those who want them on a daily basis but we can also book in advance . Generally all appointments are one problem , one appointment to allow the clinician to focus on that one concern and as you called on a Monday morning we were unable to offer you a double appointment on that day . You also have the option of completing an Econsult template which is available on our website - this will go directly to a clinician who will be able to respond and action accordingly . I will take onboard your comment regarding timings and discuss with the team as to whether there is a different way that these could be better managed. Should you wish to contact me again in the future , please do not hesitate to . Yours sincerely Mrs Diane Parrott Lead Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Excellent Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have recently been seen by the nurse who always manages to extract blood from me, hospital staff always struggle. Blood test result was extremely fast coming back to me and the doctor I spoke to about those and other results was very understanding and never rushed me in explaining things to me. I have recently also spoken to the physio lady that the surgery also has available now and she was very knowledgeable about my sciatica. I hope the surgery continues to treat their patients as people and not numbers.
