  1. Review titled Lovely practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Everyone in this practice has never been anything other than polite and helpful. It genuinely feels like reception staff go the extra mile to find the best appointment for you. They are never rude, or make you feel like you’re wasting their time. I always receive good communication; if my prescription needs to be checked I am contacted, if I am due a medication review, they inform me. The doctors are all fantastic as well. Polite, friendly, they listen attentively and try to get to the route of whatever the issue is. I am so glad I moved to Marlborough; and a huge part of this is being able to register with this Doctor Surgery as they have been a complete change to my previous experiences elsewhere.

  2. Review titled Fantastic Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've been registered here since August 2022. I have no complaints whatsoever and have received fantastic interaction from all Staff and Doctors. There is a stark contrast between this practice and my previous practice in Swindon. I have been able to get appointments and have had a number of health issues progressed with specialists; where my previous practice said it would not be possible. Staff have always been polite, and helpful and responded to all my queries! I'm very pleased to be registered here.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. In a time when GPs are struggling to meet demand on our services, positive feedback when we are doing well is very gratefully received and will be displayed in our staff room. Thank you! KAMP

Can’t thank the triage nurses, doctor, reception team and dispensary team enough for all their hard work and kindness to my family over the Christmas period.

  4. Review titled Consistently Disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I called today to check an appointment I had made to see if I could bring forward from 28th Oct as menopausal symptoms getting worse only to find it was actually 28th Nov. I am confident I was told October when booked as that was already a 4 wk wait from time of booking. From when I booked that would have been a 2 month wait to see my preferred GP so I would have tried for an earlier appointment with another GP. Had I done so I am confident I’d have been seen by now When I booked originally the receptionist suggested I keep trying to get a earlier one in case of cancellation hence my call I have now been offered a different GP on 9th Nov - 3 weeks away . I was also informed in the course of conversation that my blood pressure had not been checked since 2019!!! Rubbish! When I went in August it was checked and at prior appointments but it seems never recorded. This worries me, what else is being used I’m sorry to say this isn’t an isolated experience. The time to get an appointment is affected I understand by NHS under funding. Eight weeks to get an appointment by phone not even in person must surely be at the bottom end of any league table. It seems that many of the GPs in the practice work part time so it is nigh on impossible to see one consistently. I’m all for flexible working but it seems in this case the balance is wrong. More worrying is that it seems that my visits in the past are not being recorded in the system my last consultation was regarding a shoulder x-ray my physio had recommended it and if nothing showed up a scan I was told by the GP I spoke to that there was no point getting a scan and it could take up to 2 years for a shoulder to heal and perhaps I had a rotator cuff injury which if she had read the notes or if they had been completed! She would’ve seen had already been diagnosed in March five months earlier. I am still having issues and I’ve given up with the GP and I’m paying privately for my physio. Luckily I am in a position to be able to afford this not everyone is. When I first registered in 2000 this was a great practice but has declined terribly over the last 15 years On a positive note I have found the receptionists to be very helpful in challenging circumstances

Thank you to this anonymous person for providing feedback, which we welcome positive or negative. Our job is to look after our patients and we value patient's comments on our ability to do so. Although we cannot comment on the specific issues outlined here as the post is anonymous, I will try to address some of the more general issues. The lack of GP appointments is not confined to KAMP, it is a national issue - the number of GPs working in the NHS has consistently fallen over the last ten years, whereas the population in increasing as well as increasing in age and medical complexity. Doctors are working harder than ever to make up this shortfall as well as recruiting specialist staff who can see patients - not everyone needs to see a GP. GPs are contractually obliged to restrict appointments to ten minutes per medical issue. Some patients have thousands of pages of medical notes, it is not possible for the doctor to read all of the notes during a consultation. It would be helpful if patients could briefly outline any relevant diagnoses and treatment by other parties during a consultation, so the GP can easily search the notes for any relevant history.

  5. Review titled Absolutely no care for patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

We are moving house next week. I took the best part of the day to drive 150 miles to take my 93 year old mother to an appointment (which I had checked with the practice last week) only to find it had been changed to mid August (first requested last November). They do not seem to have informed either me or my mother’s care home and didn’t seem to think it was a particular problem.

  6. Review titled yet again

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Had a telephone interview with triage nurse, I needed to call because the antibiotics course was not long enough to clear the problem and was told that I could have another dose. This was at 10 am. I was told that the prescription would be at the local chemist in the afternoon. I went to the chemist at 2.50pm only to find that again, as usual, the prescription had not been sent over electronically. I went to the surgery and told them that it hadn't been sent over only to be told that it hadn't been signed off by a Doc. (well I didn't need it signed off for the previous dose) I waited whilst a member of staff went to get it signed which took twenty minutes, even though the reception was empty. When she finally came back and said it was signed and will be sent over I asked how long that would take and she said "as long as it takes!" Is it because I'm not a regular customer? I don't understand why they can't just do the job efficiently.

Hello Dekzion, Thank you for taking the time to write with this feedback. I am sorry that you didn't feel you were dealt with efficiently. Our Medically Urgent Team offer a same-day service so are obliged to treat urgent cases within the day. As such your prescription would have been issued the same working day, but not necessarily by 2.50pm. By law, all prescriptions have to be signed of by a GP or prescribing clinician. The receptionist who assisted you would have waited for a GP to become available to sign off your prescription. I am sorry that the clinician you spoke to gave you a timeframe which turned out to be unrealistic. I will remind the team to state that prescriptions should be ready to collect by the end of the working day, Regards, Suzy Deering Patient Services
