    I have several muscular issues and have been trying to get an appointment for weeks. I have explained to the practice that I need an appointment outside of work hours, i was sent a link to self serve with zero doctors having availability at the times I require. This is directly impacting my ability to live my day to day life without pain, but that clearly doesn't matter. Unless you're a baby, child or an older person the Orchard practice will not consider you a priority and will leave you to time out of the system and have to start again, before again being left infuriated at not being able to get an appointment. Their complaints procedure is prohibitive, I assume to discourage complaints, requiring you to put it in longform email instead of providing a webform. I'm certain the staff are overworked and I'm sorry for them for that, but that doesn't mean those of us in constant daily pain should suffer.

    Having suffered extreme back pain and difficulty in walking for 3 days over the weekend and NHS 111 taking 34 hours to get a medical advisor to call me, which was eventually late on Sunday night and too late to get a painkiller prescription. He said he would email my GP for an urgent prescription. Monday morning I tried for an hour and 45 minutes to get through to the Orchard practice. Only to find out they never received the email. The receptionist said she would put me down as an emergency call back for that day. At 4.30 pm I called and I was told the GP would call soon as there was 3 people on the list before me. It is now 7pm and still no call and again too late to get a prescription, so yet another sleepless painful night.

    Everybody here is so kind and helpful. It's a lovely practice and have always managed to get an appointment quickly.

  4. Review titled Great online booking and excellent GP experience

    I used the online booking system for the first time today, I am incredibly impressed. It was efficient and easy to use, I didn’t need to spend ages waiting on hold to speak to a receptionist. My online form was triaged quickly and I was contacted directly for an appointment. This is excellent service and I am truly grateful. So easy to do and I was even asked my preferred time for an appointment. I literally couldn’t have asked for anything more. My GP was friendly, approachable and extremely helpful regarding my consultation. Thank you so much, and I will use the online system again if I require a GP again. It’s so helpful for people working full time, who are unable to leave work to even call to book an appointment, let alone leave work to go to an appointment.
