After experiancing a shoulder injury for over 8 months, I have been passed between all the GPs in the practice. Then to only be advised that they cant do anything to help me. Waste of time!

  3. Review titled The best experience to date!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sheraine Brown - Posted on 19 April 2023

I have had many blood tests in my time some good experiences, some bad experiences and one ridiuclous account, however, today’s experience stood out for all good reasons. 1) the young nurse had the best attitude doubled up with an infectious personality that made the experience far less trimatic than I thought it might be five the amount of blood samples that was needed to be taken. 2) the nurse located my veins in no time and took all seven samples in the quickest and pain free time I’ve ever experienced. 3) she was diligent and seemed genuinely interested in my health and offering suggestions to enhance my quality of life. 4) she left me feeling hopeful and happy that there are a few good people still left in this world. 5) the service I received this morning brought to life the age old saying of “treat others as you would like others to treat you”. Doesn’t take much to be nice.. am now I have a smile on my face and a spring in my step for the day ahead. Thank you to that young nurse.. You know who you are!! Well done and don’t stop being you!

  4. Review titled Wonderful hca nurse

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

I went for a routine blood test I was nervous but felt nothing. The nurse looked through my records seeing I needed to update several things . She took it upon herself to deal with them all , instead of giving me another appointment. I can not praise this young lady enough with her knowledge and kindness and patient care she is a credit to the surgery.

  5. Review titled Poor care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Ongoing frustrating experience with this practice: -Appointments can only be booked from 8am for the same day - you stay on the line for over 45 minutes and there's no appointment. Why can't they book non-urgent appointments in advance? -They do not use the NHS App for communication despite the section "contact your gp" on the App. Nobody responded to my request for repeat prescription which I need to take for life! Why do they make everything so complicated? -My HRT treatment has been interrupted twice since it started 2 months ago because I can only get prescription for 1 month at a time. Month 3 they told me I need to make an appointment (phone of course!) so that the doctor can assess if I can have the treatment for another month (based on what? no blood pressure, no physical check, no blood test). -Booked an appointment for concerning growth of several moles. It was a phone appointment because that's all you can book! Of course I knew it would be pointless as a doctor would need to actually see the moles! The phone conversation about the moles lasted about 30 seconds - I was told I needed to book an appointment at the surgery. I tried to make us of this phone call to mention my HRT treatment but I was told only 1 issue could be discussed! I had another 9 minutes left of this booked phone appointment. Why waste everybody's time, NHS money and resources to set another appointment? I would understand if the call had already lasted 5 minutes but hear me out, spend a minute to show understanding, care.

  6. Review titled Prescriptions not issued

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 December 2022

Prescriptions are never issued on time despite being requested early on the practice website, using the correct form. When contacted to say prescriptions have not been issued and patients are out of medication, action to resolve mistakes is promised, but not taken. This GP practice is a danger to patients reliant on critical medication.

  7. Review titled Wonderful Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a blood test this morning at Thornton Heath Medical Practice. I was really pleased with the service provided as they also did some additional tests just to be on the safe side which really put my mind at ease. I didn't even feel the blood test being done and the person doing the test was very pleasant throughout. I am very grateful and recommend Thornton Heath Medical Practice to everyone. 10 out of 10. Keep up the excellent work and thank you!

I had a great conversation with one of the nurses this morning and she imparted information to me with knowledge, friendliness and professionalism and I had a better understanding of my illness. What a great asset to our GP clinic.

  10. Review titled Just a joke

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 August 2022

Not even worth a one star these days, I have no faith in them at all I used to but they just don't seem to listen or even care about my daughter whom keeps getting chest infection that even shows up on xrays. They just push it a side, they don't even read her notes its A total joke. I was told to book this appointment by out of hours abd got asked why I was there. Another doctor at that surgery booked me an appointment to talk about xray results and this doctor cancelled said don't need it if xray results need to be seen to phone up. When you phone up you hardly get an appointment. Just one big joke

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear that you feel that the practice has not met your expectations on this occasion. I am the Practice Manager and Complaints Lead. As you will appreciate, there is a high demand for appointments. I understand that your daughter was seen by the doctor who was brought in by a relative. Your concerns were noted and all the safety netting was in place. As such, it was felt that it was being managed appropriately. You had two online appointments pre-booked for the week to discuss the results, however, these were not back and the doctor advised that the appointments were no longer needed, as they were to discuss the same issue. Please be assured that once the x-ray results are back and the doctors have reviewed them, should there be a need, we will contact you to make a telephone appointment to discuss the results. I trust this goes some way to explain our process and apologise if there was any misunderstanding. Should you wish to discuss the matter further, please feel free to contact me. D Surallie Practice Manager
