    I've been a patient at the DMC for 20 plus years. Very grateful for the service available and given. Recently however it has been increasingly difficult to connect by phone with a human being at the DMC. "Please continue to hold for the next available staff member. We will answer your call as soon as possible." "As soon as possible" has become 10-15 minutes or more. Waiting and waiting! Certainly not healthy for a patient looking for help and needing to speak to someone. And it also can't be healthy for the DMC personnel. Help please.....The system isn't working!

    I contacted surgery today around 12.45 and spoke to a receptionist who was very helpful,understanding and had good listening skills. Please inform receptionist of this comment

    I moved to this surgery after poor experience at another. The GP I saw regarding some health issues could not understand why I hadn’t been referred to specialist before. The referral was made and now after some tests they have found some things other than iBS. Thank you for listening and acting on my symptoms and being concerned rather than blaming IBS and sending me on my way. I have no poor experience with anyone from this surgery whether it’s receptionist or GP. Thank you!

    This practice has worsened over the years. Want to refer you more to another practice (Tessa Jowell Centre) than allow you to see them despite being long term registered with them. Receive texts for blood pressure, weight, height requests, but then do not act upon them. Managed an on the day appointment finally for an illness and doctor was very polite and accommodating. Told me to book blood tests on the way out, but reception said they don't do them there. Have to go to Tessa Jowell Centre. A few days later they are calling and messaging me to book an appointment to do the blood tests with them. Confusing and badly managed with no coordination and a desire to send you anywhere but there for your medical requirements.

    They do not will follow up on any test, you will have to chase and chase to get anything done. You are more likely to be diagnosed by the receptionist than speak to a doctor and that’s if they have one there. You have to keep on top of them and make your own record of things going on as they won’t know.

    Rarely had a problem getting an appointment and in person care has always been decent. But recent prescriptions are another matter. Neither my wife nor I have managed to have a prescription filled correctly on the first go this calendar year, including recurring prescriptions. From incorrect dosages and errors that mean scripts can't be processed, to simply the wrong medicine entirely (thankfully spotted by the pharmacist!) this recent issue seems to be getting worse. At each occasion the prescription has required chasing by either us or the pharmacist. This has led to multi - day delays on more than one occasion. It is a shame because this used to be a decent surgery; we will look to change GP in the near future.
