My daughter needed an emergency appointment, so I rang on the day at 8am and the receptionist was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and offered us an appt for the same day. I had to ring back a week later and the same thing happened. We were treated in a lovely manner and all the staff I have come into contact with at this surgery are very professional, friendly and sympathetic.

I rang the practice very upset and frustrated regarding a hospital appointment! The staff were so helpful and diligent resulting in a satisfactory outcome!! Thank you so much.

I visited surgery as required a sick note. This was approximately 3pm but was told to either ring or request appointment digitally at 8am following day. Although I managed a digital request I feel this is not ideal for all patients as they will all request at the same time and could be a potential bottleneck

Dear patient Thank you for submitting this comment concerning your need to obtain a sick certificate from the Surgery. I am sorry that you found the process less than ideal. As you mention, we make more use of online means of communication (eConsults, for example) in our efforts to avoid the 8am rush. I hope this resolved the problem in this instance. I telephoned the surgery to arrange for a Doctor to contact my husband as soon as possible. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly . The doctor phoned my husband back within half an hour of my request . Fantastic service from the NHS , Thank You to the Forge Surgery.

I was able to get a same day, face to face appointment without any problems. When I had an issue after attending the Pharmacy, the receptionist and doctor went out of their way to assist me, despite it almost being closing time. All of the staff I dealt with were polite and helpful and I would highly recommend this practice.

We’ve recently moved so registering elsewhere after almost 9 years at Forge Close Surgery. For so many reasons I’m really sad to be leaving this surgery: The ladies at reception have always been so kind and helpful, and will go over and above to help when they can. I was away with my family for a long weekend once without my migraine prescription, and could feel one coming. When I called in a panic they kindly agreed to speak to the local pharmacist, then issued a repeat prescription and had it sent to my location. Amazing! The doctors are brilliant. I bumped into one of the GP’s away from the surgery before; he stopped to chat, asked about my children (he remembered their names), and was genuinely interested in how we were doing. When I saw a GP about stress she followed up with me a few weeks later, by which time I was feeling better. She sounded thrilled to hear me sounding so different, genuinely happy about my improved wellbeing. I have found this surgery so supportive over the years. They’ve kept us on for longer since we moved in summer (due to complications around moving) so we’d have a smooth transition etc. I couldn’t have asked for a better surgery. They are generous with their time, explain things well, and never rush you off the phone. We’ve moved too far to stay at Forge Close sadly, otherwise I’d never leave! * I saw some negative reviews which I find hard to make sense of. It’s a busy surgery and under pressure like surgeries everywhere. It can sometimes take a few weeks to get seen, but if it’s urgent and you call promptly at 8am you’ll get an appointment for that day. I’m truly grateful to all the GPs and office staff for all their support. Thank you.

Trying to book an appointment for an elderly infirm gentleman. Phones are busy. Waited half an hour, only starting as Caller 16. Requested call back, because I have a life other than waiting in a phone queue. Two hours later, I'm still waiting. Something I don't expect from a surgery, but sadly common with this practice.

Dear Dr Catie I am very sorry to hear of your difficulty in getting through to us by telephone last Monday and of your previous experience. We try our best to cope with incoming calls by drafting in extra staff at busy times but, sadly, we are not always able to keep up with demand. We do appreciate your patience, however, and continue to work on ways to improve the telephone system provided.

The new receptions at this GP surgery are so helpful and kind. They offer advice when needed and I have recently been extremely pleased with the service I have received. Doctors always fit me in when my toddler is unwell even when they don’t have any slots available. I would highly recommend this GP.

went for a discussion about my blood test results today and the service that I received from the practinor was excellent and very typical of the superb staff that work at this fantastic practice both on the phone and in person. The member of staff was clear positive friendly caring genuine and understanding. I left the building reassured and in an upbeat frame of mine. Thanks once again to the amazing staff at
