  1. Review titled Who's the Doctor?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2023

Never get back to you or follow up which could actually be a serious condition, a doctor is supposed to look after people, this surgery really doesn't care, you will never get to see a doctor only over the telephone, you will get prescribed medication and never followed up, it's a complete shambles, even if you get an appointment over the telephone it's a lottery when they will call if ever! I completely understand that covid had a huge effect on the way things are done but surely now people should be able to physically see a doctor?? You cannot determine a patients problem on a phone call, how many serious illness's are going unnoticed due to this?? Negligence claims will be aplenty against this surgery, no patient care at all, all my life I have paid tax & NI like most of the country and when you need some care or advice you are treated like a 2nd class citizen, animals get better care than humans, so if you want to use Sellindge surgery do at your peril. Staff do not care, you are just a nuisance to them for even trying to see a health professional. Happy to take the private money given by the NHS which is your Tax & NI but give nothing back. And good luck with calling with a problem or a test "Go to the Hospital" is which in 80% of cases you will be told, ah yes I will go the overcrowded hospital and be there problem, thank you for pushing my problem onto someone else who will roll their eyes and say the Doctors could have dealt with this. Best of luck if you use them, I see no light while walking the tunnel toward Sellindge Surgery....

  2. Review titled Awful unhelpful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I find this practice totally unhelpful, I rang dispensary to see if a prescription had been done for my father but dispensary do not answer their phone and I have been cut off 5 times today. I ring reception to put me through to dispensary and they are unwilling to do so. I explain my problem that no one will answer and they said the only way is to ring dispensary. The reception could not help so I asked to speak with a manager or someone that could help to be told the manager isn't in, then she cut me off the phone! I rang back again to be cut off immediately. Tried ringing the dispensary again to help with the prescription, but again they don't answer. How are you supposed to make contact with this surgery if nobody will answer the phone or cut you off when they recognise your number. They are very unhelpful.

  3. Review titled So stressful.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2023

In the past year, I have had long waits for appointments some of which have been cancelled by the surgery at very short notice which resulted in my having to wait another fortnight for a replacement appointment. Reception staff have refused to look for my test results causing significant distress and worry, they have prescribed the wrong medication (meant for another patient), sent me for an MRI on the wrong part of my body which meant waiting for another 6 months on top of the several months I had already waited.. Luckily I double checked the the second scan request myself only to find the same mistake had been made again which I then had to take back to the surgery for them to correct. I find myself having to double check everything they do as I no longer have any confidence that things will be done correctly. They have yet to apologise for even one of the numerous mistakes they've made. I find dealing with the surgery causes me a huge amount of stress. After speaking to other patients I find I am definitely not alone in this. Many older patients just suffer in silence as they no longer have the will to enter into a battle to get the care they need. Without face to face appointments how can Drs notice relevant changes in patients. Everyone deserves a basic standard of care and should be able to trust the people with rely on to deal with our health issues. I don't feel that basic care is being met at all. The reception staff are frequently curt and could do with a bit of humility and compassion. Their presence should not be a deterrent for people seeking care. They should be helping people. I'm not sure they understand that. I see on the their website that verbal abuse to the staff has gone up recently. How do they think people will react when faced with such frustrating situations. Its such a shame that the old service we were used to has gone. Its not so long ago that a Dr who knew you and your history would look you up and down from the moment you walked in the door, noticing any changes in your physical and mental wellbeing and treating you with compassion and understanding. You left feeling heard and confident that you were moving in a positive direction towards better health. Now an encounter with the surgery frequently causes more anxiety than than whatever ailment you need help with. Such a shame because it doesn't have to be that way. It should be a choice if you would like a face to face consultation or a remote one. I'm sure lots of people working 9-5 would prefer remote consultations. The choice of face to face should not be down to the dr it should be what the patient is comfortable with. Its their health and wellbeing that is important.
