I contacted the practice in relation to my elderly mother. The person I spoke to was very understanding/helpful and made a telephone appointment with a GP for later that morning. The GP rang as arranged. Again, I was treated in a courteous and helpful way. As a result an urgent referral was made to a dermatologist. This morning (the day after speaking to the GP) I received the appointment details from the dermatologist, which is in two weeks time. Many thanks to the Bryant Street surgery for all your help

  2. Review titled Terrible

Waited two weeks for a telephone appointment regarding my mental health and to ask questions about referrals for treatment. Recieved a text message telling me I could contact a talking therapy service with a broken internet link. My appointment was clearly cancelled without notifying me after this message as I waited up for a call at the specified time. Only after a close friend called on my behalf (I complained about the event's to them), did I recieve a missed call from a doctor. I requested an appointment with a doctor, I recieved a text message from the reception team with some information I could get myself and they cancelled my appointment. It is quite clear from other reviews here that they don't care and should probably cease operating. Stop Gatekeeping Our Healthcare!

  3. Review titled Unorganised chaos

Rated 1 star out of 5

My Husband suffered a Heart Attack and was taken by Ambulance to St Thomas Hospital London. After returning home - ( from St Thomas Hospital London) he then 3 days later collapsed and was taken by Ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital where a c t scan diagnosed that he had suffered a bleed on his Brain which was said to have been caused due to the interaction of blood thinners medication prescribed for his heart. On leaving Medway Maritime Hospital -a new medication prescription was given to my Husband which we then took along to Bryant Street Medical Center where he was a patient- for them to copy and order the items of medication at our local pharmacy. A receptionist at Bryant Street Medical Center said that collection of the medication from our pharmacy would be ready in 2 days. On arrival at our local pharmacy for collection of medication - only 1 item of medication awaiting us - had in fact been previously ordered back in August. (Husband in Hospital during that time) and had nothing to do with the 11 items of medication prescribed by Medway Maritime Hospital for my Husband. So basically, no medication had been ordered. I took my Husband 3 times back and forth between Bryant Street Medical Center and our local pharmacy. By this time my Husband had run out of his heart medication. Obviously feeling anxious- we then insisted that we sat at Bryant Street Medical Center until my Husbands prescription issued by Medway Maritime Hospital was sent to our pharmacy for collection. After sitting for around 30 mins we were then told that the prescription would be sent to our pharmacy that evening for collection the following day. Clarified by a phone call here at our home from Bryant Street Medical Center pharmacist. When collecting the medication-this time only around half the amount had been ordered . Where as 11 items of serious medication was needed. The remaining medication was then ordered for collection on the 3rd day. Putting it mildly- the whole situation was very stressful which didn’t help my Husband’s condition at all. Summing everything up- I found Bryant Street Medical Center to be that of unorganised chaos. I did mention to one of the receptionist that I was very angry at the way things were organised. I further added that had it just been an antibiotic for an infection which we were waiting to be prescribed- our body would have naturally healed itself by the time the prescription had arrived at our local pharmacy for collection. Whereas in fact -the medication needed was for my Husband’s serious heart condition. Bryant Street Medical Center lacks team work and organisation. At times diplomacy and manners were also needed. Due to the problems which my Husband has endured with Bryant Street Medical Center- he has now registered with the surgery where I myself have been a patient for 30 yrs without any problems.

  4. Review titled Antagonist Gate Keepers

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have chronic Ill health that i struggle with day to day normal living and most of the time it’s hard getting out of bed. My previous surgery regarded me as house bound as I can’t always get up and go and as a result all my medical needs run swiftly. I’ve been a patient with Bryant Street since November 2021 and every time I have made contact apart from the first day, I have felt like they’re paid to make my life difficult. They have refused to refer me to district nurses and every time I have needed my repeat medication it has been so difficult, stressful and frustrating and every time leaving me in tears and most of the time without my medication because that’s what they’ve done all the time making sure I don’t get what I need. I don’t know why they’re open as a surgery, they should be shut down because they don’t care and they have NEVER attended to my needs as a patient, every time they have there own agenda, not to meet my individual medical needs. I have become so exhausted with it all that I relied on old medication from 2020/2021 but that has now finished and I had to complete a repeat prescription request a few days ago and I wrote a message not to send to Paydens as they have failed to provide me with medication. Between Paydens Chatham and Bryant Street Medical they have a culture to gang up to dismiss you and deny all your telephone calls but this evening I was in a new chemist and they witnessed the phone call. I had a bad day and only felt well enough to push myself to the chemist in the evening. It’s 50 yards away. The staff at the surgery must be trained gatekeepers. Even though I reverted to my old medication, I tried to sort the problem with Bryant Street Medical and Paydens Chatham without success, I just get ignored but I have evidence of my efforts, emails and text messages and on one occasions my hospital consultant had to send me some of my medication. The hospital show more care than the GP. I have a heart muscle disease with an ICD implant and I have had over 10 major and minor operations, above all I have recurring back injury sustained in a fall having a syncope…. Since becoming a patient, I have struggled and got to the surgery twice with the help of a volunteer from Hands Volunteers. To date I have not had my routine blood test because Bryant Street Medical insist that I go to the surgery. I have had a lot happening in my life and it seems to have exacerbated my physical health and Bryant Street have insisted I go for my bloods or it doesn’t happen because they won’t send district nurses who by the way already do my warfarin check. They seriously need auditing and massive changes need to take place. I gave them a good review initially because that was before I had experienced their antagonist and ambivalence to providing relevant care to their patients. It’s like they have a vendetta and they won’t budge without making you cry and without your meds.
