  1. Review titled Amazing service

Attended today for the surgeries joint Covid walk in clinic, after numerous invites and communication from the surgery this was the day that worked best for me. On arrival there was a small queue which went down promptly then I was shown to the nurses room. I was greeted by the practice nurse who has been there years and her assistant both with friendly attitudes. I was given my flu and Covid vaccinations and even offered a pneumonia jab! I was in and out within minutes, it was such a smooth, positive and pleasant (minus the needles!) experience and I can’t thank the staff enough for giving up their Saturday to care for their patients, and doing so with a smile on their faces! Well done, keep up the hard work!

  3. Review titled Hard working Practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I am the pharmacist from Newington Pharmacy. Over the recent years Newington Surgery has undergone a number of changes. In my experience as a close colleague I have seen the struggles they have been up against. I have also seen first hand how hard they have worked to overcome these struggles in order to cope and meet the demands from the NHS and public. It will almost never be possible to always meet these demands but I can vouch for them to say that they try their best and patients care is at the heart of everything they do. I wish them all the best for the future and have no doubt that they will continue to grow in strength and ability to cope under the immence pressure they are under. Keep up the great work!

  4. Review titled Trying to see doctor for literally... over a year

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Richard Martin - Posted on 23 October 2023

I have now completely given up on trying to see a doctor... and completely lost faith. Have many issues that I've been trying for years to get resolved but, alas, it's impossible to get an appointment. This came to Head last week when I had a massive heart attack (something I strongly believe would not of happened had I been able to see a doctor at some point). After leaving hospital in Ashford I was told the medication I needed would be at pharmacy, sent from my GP. The hospital had already spoke to surgery staff and explained how important it was that the medication was received today. It was critical... this was to keep me alive basically... without I'm told I've no chance. Medication wasn't there an hour before pharmacy closed. It got to the point that the pharmacist physically had to go to the surgery and demand it herself... it wasn't even prepared. So without the assistance of the lovely pharmacist I would never have got the medication needed. Despite the fact that the hospital had been onto the surgery all that day explaining how important it was that I received that medication that day. The worst part of this is that this was on a Friday... so without the intervention of the pharmacist I would of been without said medication for the weekend. In short, I would, in all probability, be dead now. I cannot believe that a pharmacist had to go and physically argue with the surgery staff to get the medication that I needed. I am so very grateful to the pharmacy staff. But I have completely lost faith in the surgery. They are Just playing roulette with people's lives.

  5. Review titled Dreadful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely appalling. I was told I need blood test but told be quicker to do at hospital so booked appointment took time off work went there only to find out doctors hadn't put it on system so had to ring surgery when got home get them to put it on now having to redo whole process again someone else could of had that slot . If that wasn't bad enough checked with receptionist my repeat prescription gone to pharmacy told me definitely had. It hadn't wasted 40 mins trying to sort it then took a further 2 days to get it sent by then on emergency tablets as couldn't wait any longer wasted

  6. Review titled Unsafe

Rated 1 star out of 5

Virtually impossible to see a GP face to face. Telephone consultations do not always take place, even though they are booked. Left with known conditions untreated. Only plus side is the telephone lines which for months cut you off when speaking to reception or when you get to number 3 now seems to be fixed.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I'm a carer for my partner, the wait on the phone is not acceptable,I was 8th in line 2 hours 20mins later I was 2nd but my call was cancelled at 12.58 because of lunchtime,so I went to the surgery to discuss this matter to be told there to busy to answer the phone,I was the only person in there and they have turned the ringer off on their phone, the receptionist was ignoring the phone saying she was busy, busy doing nothing,so if I was you I would just call 111 if you need a dr because the way things are at t Newington Road surgery things are bad and needs to improve

  9. Review titled Phone lines

Rated 1 star out of 5

I get it might take longer to answer the phone, staff pressures increased demand etc. but why use a queueing system if it’s just a lie… Called and started on position7…. 15 mins later position2 so then it just starts ringing 45 mins later it’s still ringing. Clearly I can’t have been position 2. Tried again started on 7th position10 mins later, position 2, the just rings for 20 mins. Just be truthful. And you will get a lot more understanding back
