  1. Review titled Unacceptable Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2024

Absolutely appalling service. I called to book an appointment to see the GP today to be told I have to be referred to the pharmacy in the first instance, I explained I did not want to see a pharmacist but a GP to be told no we have to book with pharmacist first. I asked about patient choice to again be told I cannot request to see a GP and the reason being is to take the pressure off the Doctor, but it seems its ok to put pressure on the poor pharmacist as clearly they are not busy enough. The NHS is an absolute farce these days. I truly believed that training to be a GP was a vocation and wanting to help sick patients, clearly this is not the case anymore. I cannot fault the Receptionist as she is only doing her job and i feel for them as they are the ones on the frontline having to take all the backlash from unhappy patients and do a truly amazing job. I have heard other patients commenting that Doctors need to do their jobs they are paid to do and actually see patients which I totally agree with, it seems that since Covid and the merge of both Orchard and Maple Practice the Dr's have no desire to actually provide face to face patient care and seem to have no compassion what so ever. Every time I try and contact the Surgery it seems that it is a complete battleground to get any form of service from the so called Surgery these days. It won't be long before we have no NHS. I don't think my comments will make any difference because I truly think the Surgery/Dr's really do not care.

  2. Review titled Poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I requested my repeat prescription via the prescription email in plenty of time so that I would not run out, I received the automatic reply to say it was being processed. A couple of days later I received a further email stating my prescription was with the GP for signing, I went to my chemist after work the following day which was a Thursday evening my prescription was not there, following this I called the Surgery to be told I need a Medication review, I explained I had a review 2 months before, I asked why I had not been contacted and why do I need another review so soon after the last, which the Receptionist could not answer apart from saying I need a review. She then sent me a booking link the earliest date available was for 3 weeks time, so I would be without my medication until then. I called the Surgery back to be told in no uncertain terms there was nothing that could be done and to call at 8.00 in the morning, an absolutely joke and not helpful. I tried calling at 8.00 the next morning(Friday), where a message stated cannot take your call at the moment and call back later and cut me off, so frustrating, however I persevered and finally found myself caller number 28 and to press 5 for a call back. An hour later I received my call back to be told no appointments, I then had to explain the whole story again about my medication and said I would run out long before my review, I was told by the Receptionist she would put a request into the GP for enough to tide me over and it would be at my chemist later that day.I decided after work which was now 5pm on a Friday evening, to call and check the prescription had been signed off before going to the chemist, I was told it was still with the Doctor, asked if someone could ask the Doctor to sign it off as I would not have enough medication for the weekend of course the Receptionist would not ask, I said so its ok for me to go without my medication then, this is just not acceptable, if I was not compliant with my medication I'm sure the Doctor would have something to say about that, but it seems it's ok to go without when it suits the Surgery. I was finaly able to collect my medication on Monday afternoon, so had to go with my medication for the whole of the weekend, unbelievable. The communication is shockingly bad, I requested my medication in plenty of time, nobody bothered to contact me, I had to keep going backwards and forwards to find out if I was going to get my medication which I might add I have been on for years so what is the problem and why did I need another med review so soon after the last one, nobody seems to know anything and to top it all I have to battle withe 8.00 scrum with the rest of Dartford, just not good enough, total incompetence. The Surgery needs a good shake up and start looking after their patients. Clearly there needs to be better communication and staff training as know one seems to know anything. Very, very unhappy patient

  3. Review titled Abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

I dreaded having to telephone for an advance appointment. Having been told that instead of being able to arrange one during the day when the 8.00 am scrum has ended, this is not possible. One must join the mob at 8 or do without. This, although it is a doctor wanting to contact me, and not me being a patient annoyingly requesting an appointment. I am now attempting econsult to thwart another dehumanising phone conversation with reception.

  4. Review titled Access is impossible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Frances Wagner - Posted on 03 August 2023

Absolutely shocking. I have tried calling the surgery everyday this week to try and arrange appointments each time I have called at various times of the day, I have been hanging on waiting for my call to be answered at least 40 minutes each time. Finally arranged a couple of appointments for my son and husband. Following my son's appointment and having blood test and chest x-ray he received text asking to arrange follow up appointment, as he works full-time he asked me to sort this for him. So when I finished work I again attempted to call the Surgery after 50 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone I gave up. I really do not have the time to waste trying to arrange an appointment that has been requested by the GP to book are you going to pay my phone bill, as I still need to arrange his follow up appointment. Absolutely appalling service. Sort it out

  5. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment even if you have cancer

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jennie Linnett - Posted on 04 April 2023

Husband has terminal cancer, received text to make an appointment. He also has a serious issue he needs to talk to GP about. He was told that there were no appointments so would have to call at 8am next day. Did this and at 52 seconds past 8am all appointments gone and he is instructed to call the next day. No one to talk to just an automated message. Also the email address for prescriptions link on website is faulty. It does not pick up the whole address when you send the email from your mailbox

  6. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Sharon - Posted on 28 February 2023

Terrible experience over the past couple of years. Can't ever get an appointment. Medication is never right. Waiting for a scan for 3 weeks and the referral hasn't even been sent. Phoned daily promised it will be done, 3 weeks later after daily calls and emails and still no joy. Absolutely terrible.

  7. Review titled What’s going on?

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by KJW - Posted on 25 July 2022

Had been trying to get a routine appointment for a few weeks to discuss an ongoing issue but unable to get through I finally managed to get onto the appointments line at 12pm for an afternoon booking I sat through the waffle about Covid and the duties of the Receptionist and then the message told me I was 22 in the queue swiftly followed by another message that all appointments were now gone so call back the next day !!! It was now only 2 minutes past 12 so how is that possible?? Undeterred and because I wanted a routine appointment not an in the day one I rang again selected option 2 for the Receptionist and joined the queue at number 14. I quickly moved up to number 1 (5mins) but then 40 minutes later was still holding on. Eventually the phone was answered and after a few hellos I was disconnected. This system is not working for the patients and needs a serious overhaul I understand the pressures that practices are under but it is infuriating to be treated in this way This newly merged Practice promised a lot but seems to have changed nothing. In desperation I got in the car drove to the Practice and booked an appointment at the desk But why should I have to do this I shouldn’t have had to go into the building when the whole ethos is still on limited face to face access and what about the patients who can’t get there what do they do. Maybe the practice should have a freephone line because I dread to think how much that call cost me Come on Wellcome Practice Sort this out. You have a lovely staff group there and I have been a patient for 10 years but this is the very thing that gets a practice a bad reputation

  8. Review titled They has restored my faith in GP surgeries

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2022

Had an awful experience with my previous GP practice (which had high recommendations online), to the point were I felt my ‘infertility’ was my fault and I very much felt judged. Found out that the tests they were meant to have done were not the correct ones. Joined Orchard a few months ago despite the negative online reviews and finally picked up the phone to them. It was the best call I have made. They were excellent, from that initial call, to GP consultation, to getting the right blood test done in the same day! The GP outlined the onward plans and the nurse couldn’t more supportive. People only write their negative experiences, give them a call make up your own mind. I am honestly so happy with the service I have received so far. Thank You Wellcome Surgery :)

  9. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Every morning for 7 days I had called to get an appointment for my newborn baby, every single day told no appointments available. Was told I wouldn't be seen for a post natal check at 6 weeks even though I had concerns regarding my recovery, was then called by a "gp" who was not Interested in the slightest about anything I had concerns for and was only Interested in putting me on contraception. Told can't book newborns jabs in advance at all too. Filled out 2 e-consult forms and it took over a week for a response. Half of the time when calling at 8am exactly the call got cut off 10 minutes after waiting in a queue. Honestly, I've never experienced such awful service.

  10. Review titled Simply awful

I am speechless with the terrible service provided at this surgery. I have tried twice, on two separate occasions to get an appointment for my unwell 1 year old daughter and failed both times. One time I was promised a call back, before a certain time, which never materialised and when I tried to contact the surgery no one answers the phone - I would like to know what the receptionists do there all day, as it certainly isn't answering calls to their patients. I am honestly appalled and this surgery should be ashamed of the service they provide.
